Goatskin Palms

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of you guys like the goatskin palms, just wondered what are the major advantages to them? I've heard them mentioned a lot but don't know much about them. I've never used goatskin on any of my gloves but am thinking of getting my X70's redone with them since they need repalmed soon. Anybody know the average cost?

Ryan

JR had his M1s done, it was a little more expensive than the other options atwww.fixitbymail.com I think.

I think they cost about $50 to get done. I like the goatskin better, there just softer, and IMO they hold up longer. Plus they don't get hard and crusty.

When did you ever try Goatskin?

In summer league, I got to use a kids, because I wanted to see what they were like. Well his gloves lasted all summer, and they didn't get hard and crusty, and were really nice still, while my gloves were trashed. Also my 2 new pairs of gloves I have are goatskin.

have 2 pairs of Eagle H34's - goatskin glove with goatskin palm.

bought 1 pair used that had already been repalming by someone who had no idea what he was doing and did a crappy job; sent them to eagle to have them repalmed like they originally were (goatskin) - $55 for a pair to repalm ; another $15/pair to replace gussets. you pay for shipping to and from london, ontario. they did a very good job and lori at eagle was very helpful with the whole process.

My CP94s have goat skin and offer the best grip (at least to me) on Stick 'Um shafts and the like.

They break down differently than nash palms and I tend to maintain them more than Nash.

I will definitely redo my Warrior Pros in goatskin

??? I always thought the "H" in H34 stood for horse as far as the exterior was concerned?

mustang would be more comparable in terms of feel to msh2. Goat feels great, but it doesn't really feel anything like msh2

I would agree. Mustang is almost as soft as MSH, but feels slightly thicker and is a little more grippy.

i never owned a pair, but i have tried some on at my LHS and I love how they are buttery smooth/soft.. and a bit thicker feeling.. def seem more durable and supposedly does ward of bacteria better.

With goat you don't really need grip on your stick, at least I don't. It's one of the main reasons I prefer it.

Not that much more, but worth every penny.

Was that the right site, JR?

www.fixitbymail.com

That's where you got yours done?

Thanks.

Oh ya absolutely, I just love having super grip if I can. Compared to my CCM V10 I'm still taping down the shaft.

thanks! that was what I thought.....

I wanted to know because I'm playing a tourney in a few weeks with a friend who has a pair. not sure if they're H or G though. I plan on asking to take a look at them so I can see up close. if they're H though I'm not telling him because he's a BIG horse fan and I refuse to be the one who breaks it to him!

Anyone know the difference between Black Goat and Goat Suede?

No need to post it in multiple topics. Suede is more like the mustang palm, the black goat is more like leather.
