Hey Keith, any chance A7s will be available before say, March 19th? :p

and the logo would definitely stand out anywhere it was plastered, certainly generate some interest.

Going to start mainstream advertising?

So I just got the acceptance fee covered on the second patent I'm getting from my original application that turned into a guaranteed threefer. A little break to maybe get some A6X arms and A7 bodies, and springs, etcetcetc, made before the final acceptance fee turns up. The A6X knuckles will be the same size as the A7/8 knuckles, so well illustrated in the Webster's pic. I'll know more in the next week or so.

And what about Sprunghead with the mind blowing spring coming out of his head? I made a bunch of full page peel and sticks and it's a beast wherever it's posted. Guaranteed to ruin an 8.5 X 11 section of whatever it gets stuck on. A few sheets of small ones next.

i love my sprungs but i'll be honest here... if i saw that ad the only thing i'll be saying is "W..T..F" and not in a good way. haha

Hey Guys,

I am in the process of setting up a set of skates with sprungs. Well actually having them done for me.

I am curious as to what wheels you use with these. I play on a painted concrete surface. At the moment I use tour's with the hummer chassie and use a mixture of the white and yellow labeeda grippers. I have a few sets of old 76mm wheels that i will use at the start but are wondering what wheels set ups people are running. I ask is I will have to order them in from the states. A set of 8 labeeda Grippers goes for $130 at my lhs and in most places in australia.

My sprungs are currently getting put on their second boot. Got a pair of X:60s. I love the frame so much but I just couldn't get comfortable in the 9ks.

Well my 4.5 game review:

Broke a rocker arm last night halfway through the game, couldn't get the replacement in while sitting on the bench. Really disappointed that it broke I am hoping it was a fluke but it failed in the same place other people have posted about for A6 rocker arms.

IMG_0163.jpg

I am obviously not very mechanically inclined, how do i get both rocker arms back in the chassis with the spring?I can't seem to get the arms to seated in line with the pin hole or if I do the spring falls into that void below. I know I am probably retarded for asking but seriously I gave up trying to fix things years ago.

Should also mention I live in a humid, wet climate that is not cold or arid (Vancouver) so I am even more surprised the arm failed that quickly (only 4.5 games). I am only 150lbs so it is not like I am putting a ton of force through the rocker arms.

About to get my visa updated so I can go to China and finally get the A6X arms and A6 and A7 bodies, and springs for all and, most likely, start the molds for mag/alloy arms to fit the current A6,A7 and A8 bodies.

Send me your address and I'll replace the arm and send you some sub-assembly pins which fit inside the connected arms to hold them together, but do not stick out on either side, so you can put the arms in as a pair, which is much easier. When you push in the pivot pin, it pushes out the sub pin. Makes it easier to take them apart to clean and put back together.

Thanks that would be appreciated. I love the chassis and I think the A6X or going straight to the mag/alloy will be the key to making it perfect.

Check your PM.

boy seeing the broken rocker arms really sucks,I only broke a rocker arm once while playing, although I changed it and only missed one shift. Ive found a couple broke by the pivit knuckles while checking and cleaning.the lessons learned with sprungs is this...check them often, keep them clean and soak them over night like once every couple of months. It might seem like a hassle but it pays to have that piece of mind while playing.

Can someone school me on the A6X arms? I have an old A6 (bought them in 2007 I think), and I won't be playing roller again until late May. I'm debating getting a new set of 76mm wheels (a fresh set usually lasts me a summer season) if the A6X arms are going to be available by then as I assume they use a larger wheel size (80mm)? I'd like to upgrade to the A6Xs and go with 80mms if thats how they work.

Is this accurate? Keith, any idea if the A6Xs will be ready by late May?

yeah , I just take the wheels off and soak them over night. I put water in a tupper ware tray ,right up to the frame.(right below the boot)like once a month.

My 5 game review:

After fixing the above problem I went out last night to give it another try. Took the warm up, everything seemed good. Took 2 shifts and broke a rocker arm (same rear most arm as last time but this time on the opposite skate). Took the skate off and drove home pissed I missed the rest of my game for the second week in a row (now out of spare rocker arms).

This is my biggest issue with the Sprungs. I have been interested in getting a pair for years, but the chassis is expensive and prone to issues regularly. Are you considering going back to non-rocker chassis?

I don't really have a choice now. Keith said he was sending me some replacment rocker arms but they have yet to show up so I will probably have to go back to my hilo. I really like the feel of the sprungs and they don't mess up my ice game at all, which is the main reason I bought them. Guess I will just have to wait for the metal verison to come out.

If you notice through this thread a majority of the breaks seem to happen to the A6s, so if you fit the A7 you might have better luck.

I used a7's for a year and a half playing most of my games essentially outside in 30 degree weather or lower, I didnt soak my frames at all and they held up fine

Unfortunately, I wear a size 6.5 Nike skate, so the A6 would be my only choice. I just haven't gotten the vibe that these things actually hold up at a level that I play and skate at.

If the A6Xs are built on par with the A7/A8 setups, then you'll be fine. Just have to wait until they're out.

I beat the hell out of my skates... I mean, put them through the ringer. And my Sprung frames took it like a champ, much better than I had anticipated.

Why would you need to soak your holders?

over time depending on the conditions you skate in, the frames can dry out and become brittle, so soaking them in water for a couple hours every now and then can help with durability
