Malkin taken to hospital, along with Mark Recchi who was clipped with a stick near the eye in the first period. The facility they were playing in doesn't have xray capabilities and such.

being a Malkin fan and this being his debut.... it was quite painful to watch. Not to mention that Malkin set up Leclair beautifully on a partial 2 on 1, just seconds before they collided. Had Lecliar put the first chance away, things might have turned out different

yeah his presence was noticeable, he was deking a lot a of people out in typical Malkin fashion, putting the puck through their legs and jumping to the other side meeting the puck there. He was quite effective on the PP to, making all the right passes, nothing bad

Yeah I thought he had a pretty good game. He juked a few flyers, albeit not many of their A players, but still some nice moves.

And damn, did that Gauthier guy have a rough game. Hit in the chin with a Gonchar slapshot, plus I noticed him get worked over physically a couple other times too.

He was a reebok guy for last season...NBH probably grabbed him because ccm/rbk has Ovie, crosby, phaneuf.....NBH had to get at least one solid young rookie, if he would have stayed with rbk, they would have a monopoly on all the youth.
