NBH 4 roll or sande max pro?

Recommended Posts

It is amazing what people will do for the swoosh. Jesus.

Indeed. NBH is laughing all the way to the bank....

For many that is true. I however have no company loyalty...but the 4-roll is the most comfortable glove for me. I have not been a fan of NBH helmets (wear CCM) or a fan of their pants (wear Tackla). I like what fits and feels best, and certainly don't think anyone should buy equipment based solely on the logo.

I got my pair on Saturday, but not just because of the swoosh. The fact that I rarely can find a loose-fitting nylon glove came into play and these felt amazing. After getting my Mission pro-stocks in nylon, I can't use leather again...

i was at the Total Hockey in IL on friday and just tried a pair on for the hell of it. I have a pair of Bauer 5000's pro-stock and they felt very similar fit wise. Except the NBH 4 roll had a ton of room in the cuff area and the palms seemed really nice. Wish my 5000's had those palms.

If i was buying a new pair, i would really be considering this glove.

I hope you're really not STILL considering the Sandes. We have samples in my store of both the nylon and leather versions and they are the big joke along with the MIAs. People just pick them up and laugh at them. The 4 roll gloves are the way to go. Trust me. They were the first glove I ordered when the rep showed them to me and we sold a pair the first day they came in. As soon as the customer put them on he brought them immediately to the counter. The only other glove on my rack right now that compares to the comfort are the Easton S11s, but IMO they are way to bulky.

I've read your post twice, and nothing in there gives me any indication why Sandes are a joke. You've given nothing but fluff in your post: give me some real reasons why NBH gloves are better than the Sande. I'm not going to "trust you" until I head some thing substantiating claims.

Put a swoosh on the Max Pro and I'll bet you couldn't keep them in stock. Here's the thing with brands that aren't Nike, Easton or RBK; you actually have to actively sell them. That means knowing the product and talking to customers about the products. Sitting back and waiting to take their money isn't going to result in many sales for second or third tier names.

MIAs are a joke huh? I bet that more than a few people on here would disagree.

Just because something isn't selling doesn't mean it isn't a good product, it often means that the customer is unaware of the quality of the product. Example; Salming, TPS, Tackla and Mission. Each other these companies fly under the radar(some more than others) and make great products.

Might wanna tell that to the Pros what wear them.

Im sure some Senators and Sabres would disagree, as well as tons of others.

Depending on what color you're looking for this is the cheapest I've come across for pro-stock TPS R8 Lite's. Can't beat $99 for these gloves.

Cyclone Taylor

those TPS are probably the best.

however go with the Bauer over the Sande, I would say.

Only tried on Sandes in a store and wasn't my cup of tea. The fit felt very Eagle-like to me. (very loose) The trigger finger didn't really do much for me either.

I own the Bauer 2000 as my old back up glove and i am currently in the RBK 8k's, i really liked my 2000's but they would get really hard and the palms got ripped up in no time and the RBKs do not do that. Did NBH improve on the 4 rolls so that they do not harden after every use?

I love the feel of trigger finger, but I think the they need to shorten the gusset because too much of your finger is exposed to slashes. I have gotten the tip of my finger smashed twice in them. The way it is attached the length of the gussett is essentially doubled from a normal glove. I think they could shorten this up without sacrificing mobility or feel.

I have not tried the 4roll so I can't compare. I have sinced switched to the XXX however, because they are a better fit for my hand width wise and I like the cuff better than the one on the Sande. The palm on the Sande is better though.

Really? I guess I'm not one of "more than a few people."

I'm not a fan of them but there's still plenty of people on this board that would disagree with us.

There are also a lot of people who think these NikeBauer SDPs are new gloves and wouldn't have looked at them had they not added the Swoosh.

My MIA's literally fell apart after a weeks use.

Good point. But in all fairness there are new additions to the glove... but then again people we looking for these "swoosh gloves" before they knew about the new features.

actually I think the changes, naimly the dri-fit material, makes the glove too bulky. It made a bulky glove even more bulky... Didn't think that was possible to do to the SDPs!

NBH is also getting this out a lot more than the bauer SDPs, or so i've seen. I have seen these "new" gloves in many stores whereas i had to hunt to find the old sdp's and still couldn't find my colorway.

Right now i think im leaning towards the NBH's because i wanna try on the Sande's to see if i buy into the trigger finger and such before i try something new, rather just go with the "standard" glove i think...
