Zdeno Chara is using an s17 tonight against buffalo, just thought it was interesting since he's been on a strict AK-27 diet for a while now. then again, it may not be an s17, i didn't see a good shot of the part where the ellipse would be.

also savard switched to the s17 tonight after using the Johnson all year

I was doing the same... once I spotted the Easton I slid forward on the couch towards the TV....I was thinking maybe the S17 shaft?

If there were an S17 shaft, with the elliptical taper...how the bloody hell would ya fit a blade in it?

first post...i have had my s17 for about 2 months now and I have really fallen in love with it! I think I am hooked! Perhaps I scored one of the good ones. (knock on wood)

is anyone else noticing alot of nhlers using this stick, savard and chara i saw last night, i thought they were both using warriors.. and hossa on atlanta was using one against the rangers.. if you watch alot of nhl games, seems like alot of players are switching to this stick..

The stick is hitting full release in a month and Easton has a lot of money. I suspect most are repainted.

After a couple of weeks and 6 beer league games with the S17's, it is safe to say that the performance is pretty much as advertised. Finally, a stick that doesn't have me reaching for the '05 Stealth grips.

How many color variations are there of the S17? I believe the blue one is the regular version, and the red one is the grip version, but I've seen some other colors as well, such as orange, yellow, green etc. Are these made for specific teams? And what other colors have you guys seen?

Yes the only colors that are available to the general public will be red (grip) and blue (non-grip). The colors you have seen are for the pros only, but if you got a stick from the toy drive you could pick whatever color you wanted.

I don't think you could actually request a specific color. I know the S17 contest (pre-toy drive announcement), you could pick out of 8 or so colors... but the toy drive was just "grip or non grip"

Has anyone here been able to play around with an 85 S17? I read through the thread but only got speculations on how the stick flexed like (ie. 100=80?)

From the Toy Drive it was. My brother's was/is an 85 and it felt like a 70something.

For those of you with the S17, do you find the blade overly stiff and "pingy". What I mean is does it have any cushioning properties or no?

yeah, they showed a good shot of him after he scored... it's a 2 piece.

Marc Savard on the other hand, is also using the S17..... he's also oddly enough switched to a Vector lid, and now he is using the Vector 10 SE skates...he was in the U+ for about a game. Odd that a Nike/Bauer whore would make such a drastic jump.
