From the looks of it, using very little could result in a lot of impact absorption. It would be great to be able to lower the size of a lot of the pads that some players wear.....ie Vector 10.0's make you look like a WWF superstar. Yeesh!!

Extra slash protection around the back of the leg and around the kidneys.

It would take every piece of equipment and make it a tenth as bulky.

This stuff has been around for a few years and Justin addressed this a year or two ago. His comments were not positive regarding the material. There was also a ref testing some protective stuff from D3O and they bagged that project too.

The stuff weight a fair amount and isn't very flexable. I've seen it on skiing equipment and I wouldn't want it for pads, way to stiff and bulky to get good protection.

I do not know what the material was but a few years ago i was watching something about football shoudler pads and how some scientist were inventing this sheet which was as thick as a sweater and they were taking helmets and smashing them off there hands while there hands wrapped in this material, does anyone know what im talking aobut?

Its a non newtonian fluid that basically does the same thing, the cool part is you can make it out of cornstarch and water, (2:1 ratio) and its mad cool to play with. You can ball it up if you move you hands fast enough throw it and when someone catches it, it then does to a liquid in their hands.
