He has been my favorite player for a very long time now. I'm afraid nobody will remember him. Even though he had 503 goals I doubt he'll get into the Hall of Fame. He's been to the All-Star game a few times , but doesn't have a cup or any hardware.

I guess I'm just sad that his NHL career is over.

It's a shame cos if he had signed a deal with the Caps, he would be flying with Ovy, Semin, Nylander and Kozlov.

Caps didn't want him. Bondra wanted a longer contract than they were willing to give him.

He was still in the league?

Hey now, no need for that!!!! :P

Bondra was a great player in the 90s. He would lead the Caps in PP goals, Short Handed goals and even strength goals. Sure, he didn't produce much in the last couple years, but in his prime he was one of the better players in the league and certainly deserves some HOF consideration.

He was a very good player, but I do not think he will get into the HOF.

500 goals will not get you in just ask Dino Ciccarelli with 600. Dino's character may be the reason he is being left out.

Bondra had one of the best shots in the league.

He was still in the league?

He wasn't getting any phone calls this year and his half season last year with Chicago was nothing to write home about.

Still my all-time favorite.

I have one of his game-worn jerseys hanging in my basement.

Wish he could have played one last game as a Cap.

Mr. Breathe Right.

Come on, don't tell me you didn't rock them right after he did. I know I did!

I tried them out too. It's amazing what you'll try when you see your favorite player using it!

I would have liked to see the Blackhawks bring him back another year. They can't be anywhere near the salary cap, and with the 'youth movement' on the team, it wouldn't hurt to have an adult around. If not for team leadership, at least to go in the store and buy beer for the rest of the guys.

It would have been one less roster spot for a kid or a checker.

Sergei Samsonov and Dave Koci come to mind immediately, but I'm sure they have more players than that who are a waste of an NHL roster spot. And it's good to let the kids play when it's Kane and Toews, but some of them don't need to be there just yet.
