how come toe curves arent retail?

Recommended Posts

I really want them to make retail to curves as well. The Smyth from Warrior/Inno is a bit of a toe as well. Nothing has the right amount of toe for me though. I know a Kovalchuk retail would be out of the question, but something close would be fine with me. I guess I'll just have to scrap around for various pro stocks and Smyth's for now...

If you're that invested- wood blades to curve your own and find what you want. Send it in and get customs made, you'll never have to worry about players or companies changing patterns on you.

Fury has a nifty little toe curve on the K. Primeau. It's a deep toe, very open. Looks like an ice-cream scooper.

Since hockeygiant has the Fury Diamondbacks on sale (closeout), why not pick one up? They're selling right now for $49.99. Use the discount code FURY0122 and get an additonal 30% off ($35 stick plus shipping? Hard to go wrong).

Very similar to the Niewendyk that Hespeler sold at retail or a toe version of the Sakic.

Toe curves must be a Whitby thing, Primeau-Nieuwendyk-Roberts :P

Thanks for that discount code, I'm going to order one to my works US office.

Speaking of Whitby, 50th anniversary celebrations in March of the Dunlops world championship-not too many small towns can make that claim. Blatant hijack-I'll start another thread.

Yep.... I believe that was the Kariya/Roberts just renamed (Chadd can correct me if I'm wrong).

It had no retail predecessor.

The european company Passvilan sells all theyre pro patterns also at retail! (and you can get customs, too)

If i remember correctly the retail curves (available in LH and RH) are 25 EUR for one comp blade. The #60 retail looks like a slightly more shallow kovalev pro!

The pro patterns are 27 EUR per blade and there are A LOT toe curves!

Afaik you can also get the OPS version of all those patterns but i dont know the price..

scoll down for pics of all theyre curves

That Hossa is sick. I know that must be reasons toe curves have gone the way side, but I wish someone made something close to the Hossa?

The only real toe curve in a retail pattern was the Shanny, and I think you could see how it didn't sell, the blade is absolutely atrocious! If there was a nice rounded toe toe curve like the pro hossa, I'm pretty sure it would be a great seller.

I live in Atlanta and my local rink is where the Thrashers practice. In the pro shop there they still have some of Hossa's Vapor XX ( black and XXX lite look a likes) in that curve that was from the picture earlier in the thread. If anyone wants them i can probably work something out. i think the flex is either 95 or 102. not sure how many are left but let me know if anyone is interested

It's a shame, a company could make a killing offering toe curves at retail. Too bad Christian didn't end up making one after they did the poll here.

Apparently they can't or didn't because most people axed the toe curves. Because they're a niche curve a minority of members on a board that's a minority of hockey players itself like it, doesn't mean it'll sell. I'm sure they companies don't care about the hundreds they'd sell.

46 is an absolute money snipeshow curve right there. A lot like the old prostock vapor XX kovalchuk, and he said he loved it but wouldn't let anyone touch it

Thanks Bekster, any idea of how the blades play like? I am going to contact the company to see if they'll ship to Canada? Is anyone else interested?

This is one of the best posts i've ever seen, That info on the euro stick company makes us stick junkies mouths water. I've been bending my own for years but to have a composite option with dern near every curve imaginable.

Thanks to all of you for the great info.

Guys, I have an order going in for a few #46 blades from Passvilan. Is anyone else interested in adding to the order? If so PM for pricing and info?

If anyone needs to know L=LH, P=RH, L/P= is both LH and RH. From what I understand all the blades are able to be ordered in both standard and tapered hosels. The order I am making is for the #46 but you can add any of the other blade patterns, if you're interested?

I find it hard to believe that the shanny curve from easton was "unpolpular". I remember just a few years back that was the only blade you could find for adults, especially in an ABS version.

I've seen a few people selling shanny's on ebay in the last month and those things were going so well, one guy up'd his price...and they still go. They put out like 20 ultra lite blades at once and you can select how many you want...and people are buying them 3-4 at a time. (bought 9 myself ;) )

I could be interested in trying a couple out, have you got any quote on shipping costs?

The shipping is kinda exspensive, thats why I am asking around to see if anyone else wanted in to make to shipping cheaper for everyone.
