What was your first pair of skates?

Recommended Posts

bucko, love your avatar. I grew up watching the Broard Street Bullies. Hey do you have a copy of Schultz's #1 hit In The Penalty Box. I can't find it anywhere. I had it as a kid what real Flyer wouldn't. I lost it, probally lost millions by losing that record. LOL

I had those too. They were "my" first skates. Before that, I had whatever my Dad had worn. Can't for the life of me remember what they were.

I started off with a pair of second hand CCM 205 Super Rapides and then a few months later got a pair of 305 Mustangs which I still have lying in the closet!

unfortunately not... i met "the hammer" when tehy where on tour with the flyers alumni team in germany in the mid 90´s, this was quite impressing, he´s a great guy and it was real fun to talk with him and listen to the stories of the broad street bullies :D

I was twelve years old and wanted to learn to skate. Bought an old pair of CCM brown and black leather second hand skates at the Salvation Army store in my town, cost $1.75 CDN. They where a bit too big for my feet but used them for a couple of years to learn the basics. After saving my allowance and paper route money for a couple of more years picked up a brand new pair of Bobby Hull autographed Bauer skates at Canadian Tire just before Christmas time 1969 or 1970. Don't remember what they cost but still a lot of cash for me at that time. I loved those skates and their the ones that helped me learn to skate reasonably well enough to start playing hockey.

My first ice skates were Bauer Formula 46 or something like that. I started playing street hockey quite a while before ice so my actual first pair of skates were some cheap plastic inlines from Target.

Bauer Big Chiefs, then Bauer Huggers, then Bauer Chargers, then Bauer Turbos. I finally moved up and got a sweet pair of Super Tacks. Then more Super Tacks, then Custom Tacks.

Bauer Supreme Composites, then Vapor 10s, then Supreme 8090s, then Vapor XV, now Vapor XIX. I think that covers ice, roller would be much easier. :D
