Pro Equipment Sales

Recommended Posts

They had used pants in all sizes... but when I say used I really mean it (holes, rips, stains, stink, you name it.) New ones were few and far between and you'd probably need a 36 waist to fit into those.

Well dang, that kinda sucks. Maybe a shell would be a better idea than pants, but that's not really worth the drive up.

With those prices, it may be a good idea to not buy anything. I am finding that you can get brand new pro stock equipment from various stores like Sport Chek and National Sports for the same price or cheaper.

Eg. TPS R8 pro stock sticks for $99 CDN and RBK pro stock gloves for $79 CDN.

Sometimes you can even use store coupon for additional savings.

When I was in Vancouver, I got some good deals at The Sports Exchange (I think). They had a special rack of pro stocks that were marked down to $75 Canadian. At the time it was about $60 US, so a pretty good deal.

According to an email I just got back from the Penguins' front offices, "There is no equipment sale planned at this time." According to the email if they do decide to do an equipment sale look for it to come 1.5-2 weeks after the end of the season.

Anyone one that is going to the Islanders sale that wants to pick up some Guerin sticks, at a profit of course, PM me and let's deal!!

I'll probably stop by if i'm off.

If the prices are anything like the last one I went to, it wont be worth grabbing anything, though.

So what were the prices for the OPS and gloves? I'd really be interested in grabbing a pair of the gloves, if anyone else has tiny doll-hands like me.

Stars sale: May 15-16.

Gloves are pretty much donezo (Prob 4-5 pair of RBK left). Righties- hope you like Barnes and Robidas curves. Lefties- hope you like S17's.

Hattrick Swayze:

If you are right handed and looking for sticks/pants you may be in more luck that you might be lead to belive by Mickz.

Right handers:

Rypien (5'10 170lbs)

Jannick Hansen (6'0 175 lbs)

Kyle Wellwood (5'10 175 lbs)

These guys, Wellwood specifically I know use lighter flex sticks...Wellwood actually uses a pretty whippy Vapor Shaft with wood blades... so some of those may be available...

Also see above plus Ryan Johnson for Pants that may be around the 32-34 for sizing.

If you are specifically looking for pants, you can always look at either the Sports Exchange or The Hockey Shop as they seem to both come in to Pro stock 'Nucks pants from time to time. (I bought a pair of Lightning RBK Pro stock pants off THS)

jbyun, a poster here got a pair of Nucks pants from THS too.

Yeah thanks for the info. I've seen the pants at The Hockey Shop, but they were $200 if I remember right. Too rich for my blood. I was hoping for a cheaper pair seeing as how I'd probly use them for just pick-up/stick and pucks.

Did they have a season ticket holders' pre-sale?

If I remember correctly, gloves were $80-175 and sticks were $100-225. Helmets were all $100 whether it had a visor or not. Skates were $200+. Obviously that depended on condition of said equipment and player it was used by.

The Stars sale is pretty much cleaned out of pro-stock stuff except padded shells and helmets (new and used) at this point. Quite a bit of retail equipment still there, except adult pants.

Yeah, I was about 30th in line this morning, and most of the pro-stock was gone in minutes. No gloves, a good number of sticks. No pro-stock shoulders, shines, or elbows. Some good blocker and catcher pro-stock for the goalies though. Not really worth getting up at 5 am for this.

It was much more convenient at the start of the season when sticks and other things went to each Stars Center store. They stopped that in November or so to save everything for the sale, which doesn't make great sense.

That was done on part of the righties that complain that there aren't any right handed sticks at the sale. Sometimes you can't win for trying.

They just need to tell the front-office to sign only righties this summer. That'd help way more.

I'm just glad that I'm easy on sticks, so a couple here and there keep me supplied for a while.

So it looks like I'm going to be in NYC on draft day. I'm going to be in Queens so I gotta decide which draft party to attend.

Islanders or Devils. I'm in interested in blades, helmet and gloves. Maybe tall pants also.

Anyone get any suggestions on which of the 2 I should go to? thanks

Just think about 1 thing. If the Islanders don't draft Tavares...expect a riot.

Its not worth it. The colesiuem and the Rock are about a hour apart and driving on a Friday on LI is a hassle during the summer
