Under Apparel

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a new "Under Armour" type material to wear underneath my equipment when I play. To get some ideas at what to look at I'm curious as to what other members are wearing.

Please post what you are wearing under your equipment and if you like/dislike it.

I have the socks that I wear when I play hockey. I also have some pants and a shirt for when I do mountain bike.

I wear Canterbury of New Zealand long sleeve top, and leggings for ice to keep me warm, and an under armour short sleeve tshirt for inline, prefer the canterbury stuff though.

short sleeve t shirt, plain, black.

I have a Nike loose fitting under armor type that I wear on occasion. those occasions being when i have back to back to back games and the elbow pads are just filthy soaked. Can't stand wet equipment.

Under Armour short sleeved heat gear shirts. They are awesome, keep me cooler and when I finish playing and take it off in the locker room, all the sweat comes off with the shirt, so you can definately tell it does what it is designed to do.

Nike dry-fit loose vented short sleeve.

Nike is better for hockey, in my opinion, plus it doesnt hold a static charge as much as UA does. But it does hold in smell worse. Sometimes I have to double wash it.

UA Heat Gear Leggins

UA Heat Gear Longsleeve shirt

Been wearing the same setup since college, it looks kind of like a wetsuit. I like the idea of not having anything baggy between myself and my pads, but I hate the way pads feel on my skin.

I have been wearing a Skins long sleeve top now for almost 4 years. The best under apparel I have tried, which compresses, regulates temp. and wicks away moisture. They hold a unique patent on the compression part as well.

I have JOC pants which are really loose and used just for the velcro sock tabs and moisture management.

Call me crazy, but I don't wear an undershirt, pants or socks in my skates. Just feels weird and makes me overheat.

Alot of people do that I believe. I do it alot, but I wear Synergy socks. When I do wear under gear, it is Nike.

I play at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Where Montreals farm team plays, so it is hot as hell

-v-neck cotton shirt- like the feeling of having a shirt on and the v-neck keeps me cooler than a traditional tee

-Commando (Well not quite. Shock Doctor Power Ultra)

-Soccer style foot socks
