Going back to the Old

My Warrior AK27 blade broke tonight on a one-timer, and of course, I had no backup stick on me. So I rush to the Pro Shop I used to work at and find an old SRS'd Vapor XX (the black/blue original one) that no one has picked up for about six-eight months. Taped it up and took the ice with it, and WOW! I know this stick hasn't been in production for years, but man that twig kicks. Anyone else had the newest and greatest, and gone back to something old and proven and found they like it even more?

Aren't those the Inno made version of the XX that is basically an 1100 which is basically a Dolomite?

Have you used a Dolo?

That can be solved...TPS will make you long-hosel tapereds. Better quality than Easton.

Amen to that. I still have my old original silver Synergy 100 flex Yzerman. And yes the Vapor XX (inno 1100) was probably at the time the second most used stick in the NHL next to the Synergy. Also the coolest looking of the Vapor line. WOW when was that 2002-2003???

I've thought about that in the past JR. I got excited about the sher-wood 950's but they just didn't feel right. I don't play competitively anymore so I don't think that I can justify custom blades. But if anyone knows where some old ass Modano pro-stock woodies are I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

I seem to only use Dolomite shafts but I have a Easton Stealth CNT OPS that I really like as well. Has a nice kick to it and I use it when I play defense..I like my Dolomite and Stealth enough that I sold my unused TPS XN10 carbon pro stock shaft to Goonsquad the other day..I've got maybe 3-4 more sticks I need to unload since I've obviously found a couple sticks I prefer.

I got a new Synergy 350 after using a 5k for a couple of years. After using the synergy a few times, I just didn't feel as comfortable as I did with my 5k.

Rink where I play at in So Cal had a ton of T-Flex blades for 5 bucks a pop last week. Not sure of the pattern though.

Well not a stick, but back when the Vapor 10 skates came out I had them and was in love with them, but outgrew them fairly quick. Now I am desperately trying to find another pair in my size, but not pay out the ass for them. Anyone with a 9-10 PM me I guess.

Got nestalgic tonight after reading this thread and pulled out the old Yzerman Synergy. Wow that was a banana curve. Still tuff as nails from about 6 chops and was rewarded 2 goals. ;)

I have a broken original gold synergy that I turned into a shaft a long long time ago. The thing was a 110 flex and I swear it feels like an 80 now. Still, I swear that on some of the shots that come off it are harder than I'll ever shoot with anything else. It's probably all in my head, that thing was my baby ^.^
