Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC

Recommended Posts

Fact: The first KFC wasn't in Kentucky. Or even the South. It is located on the corner of 3800 South State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. I used to play inline across the street. But I rarely ate there. Tasty, but it's like a rock in your gut.

Since we're throwing around KFC facts...Dave Thomas (Wendy's) once worked for Harland Sanders and the reason Wendy's burgers are square is because one of the pieces of advise he was given in his time with Harland was to never cut corners.

I've heard about not cutting corners, but never seen anything attributed to Harland Sanders.

I always thought that was the way the story went...but looking around the interweb just now...I can find lots about the quote "At Wendy's we don't cut corners" and Thomas being mentored by Sanders...but nothing that connects the 2 directly...so you may be right.

I'm all about Kennedy Fried Chicken, the KFC knockoff that's in all the 'real good' neighborhoods around here
WTF is Kennedy's? I'm from Central Jersey, and I've never even HEARD of it!!

Central Jersey ain't ghetto.

I was referring to Twister18's quote. He lists as being from Middlesex Co., NJ. Middlesex County being Central Jersey.

KFC, popeyes = yuck

Bojangles!

Its not even fair to compare those 2 to Bojangles. Totally different styles. Id compare Boj to CFA before I did to KFC and Popeyes.

Bojangles is pretty tasty, but they don't have any in AZ.

One of the most delicious things in the world is Kentucky Fried Chicken's mashed "potatoes" and gravy.

We don't have Kennedy's out here, but we have the mexican equivalent: Church's.

Chik-fil-A is all hype, but I think it's funny that everybody is biting their style now with the "southern" style chicken sandwiches (butter on the bun and a pickle, nothing else). I know it's a pretty jeebus-centric company, but the ones out here are all out of control, I feel like I might burst into flames every time I walk into the place. They're required to say "my pleasure" every time you say thanks, so it's kinda funny to say thanks at the end of every sentence.

To answer the original question, I think the Kentucky Fried Chicken name is better. I'm against the "FedEx"ing of America.

It's good, but that shit is fyah. Plus after they got on Insomnia, it was cluttered more than usual.

You mean Insomniac? Haha, I was on the Kansas City episode watching Gibby attempt to blow smoke out of his eye.

Yeah, that show. I like that they didn't overact with it because the first time I tried their chicken I thought I was going to end up scarred.

We have about 6 in our area (KFC) and every one of them is a dump inside. I can't understand how they stay open. Grease, food on the floor, just filthy in the kitchen. The last time I went in one, no one was up front at the moment so we had a chance to look around. It grossed us out so bad we left without ordering.

Guess you dont want to know what goes on in the kitchens/freezers of even the best restaurants.
