goal difference is a factor in the IIHF tourneys...but if they were that horrible, we could be talking about sliding (not even really shooting) the puck from the far blue line in between the goalkeeper's legs!

I am really surprised, that the entire Bulgarian team didn't get ejected for fighting. It would be hard to keep your cool when being embarrassed that much.

In our rec league, you can only use 5 goals or so per game towards the goal differential. Odd they wouldn't do something similar in international tourneys.

They really should have employed the mercy rule, and you'd think if the coach didn't tell them to back off then at least the ref would. We've been told by a ref to back off after going 8 or so goals up before, let alone 10 goals in 5 minutes.

not my information: The IIHF has some good info on Bulgaria's hockey prowess. A nation of about 7.4 million, they have just 299 registered hockey players and only three indoor rinks. There are only 37 female players in the entire country. (Canada has about 74,000.)

I also read there were only 44 spectators in attendance. I doubt there is video ;)

Goal differential can't be THAT much of a factor, it's terrible sportsmanship.

I'd be going over the boards after the other team's coach somewhere around the 20th goal I think.

this was a sad vid, the Slovaks girls are pretty low class, putting theirf hands up and celerbrating a goal at 79-0, they are the ones who should feel like shit. And I fight at the end of the game, where the bulgarians get tossed around, even by the ref, just tops this story off.

They ain't (themselves) shit in womens icehockey, and thus should have a better understanding of the bulgarians situation, and yet they are prancing around with that degrading attitude.

haha im bulgarian and thats pretty low of the slovaks to run up the score like that. i mean you figure after 15 even 20-0 that you feel good enough where you can just run down the clock.
