seaner7633 2 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 Is goal-differential a factor? Otherwise, isn't it just poor sportsmanship to keep running up the score...?
AmoriZep 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 goal difference is a factor in the IIHF tourneys...but if they were that horrible, we could be talking about sliding (not even really shooting) the puck from the far blue line in between the goalkeeper's legs! Bane 1 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 I am really surprised, that the entire Bulgarian team didn't get ejected for fighting. It would be hard to keep your cool when being embarrassed that much.

Jarick 5 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 In our rec league, you can only use 5 goals or so per game towards the goal differential. Odd they wouldn't do something similar in international tourneys.

cougarscaptain87 12 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 +28 and -39 that might skew the +/- column for the tournament a bit.

sabby47 2 Report post Posted September 10, 2008 Holy crap.. had the other team even put on skates before that day? Is there any video of this anywhere??
phunky_monkey 6 Report post Posted September 10, 2008 They really should have employed the mercy rule, and you'd think if the coach didn't tell them to back off then at least the ref would. We've been told by a ref to back off after going 8 or so goals up before, let alone 10 goals in 5 minutes.
bheidepr 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2008 not my information: The IIHF has some good info on Bulgaria's hockey prowess. A nation of about 7.4 million, they have just 299 registered hockey players and only three indoor rinks. There are only 37 female players in the entire country. (Canada has about 74,000.)I also read there were only 44 spectators in attendance. I doubt there is video ;)
mrusse01 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2008 Is goal-differential a factor? Otherwise, isn't it just poor sportsmanship to keep running up the score...?Goal differential can't be THAT much of a factor, it's terrible sportsmanship. I'd be going over the boards after the other team's coach somewhere around the 20th goal I think.

tro 4 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 this was a sad vid, the Slovaks girls are pretty low class, putting theirf hands up and celerbrating a goal at 79-0, they are the ones who should feel like shit. And I fight at the end of the game, where the bulgarians get tossed around, even by the ref, just tops this story off.

Patrick67 1 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 Really bad lack of class from the Slovakian girls, especially #14 deserves a beating. They ain't (themselves) shit in womens icehockey, and thus should have a better understanding of the bulgarians situation, and yet they are prancing around with that degrading attitude. nvme1391 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2008 haha im bulgarian and thats pretty low of the slovaks to run up the score like that. i mean you figure after 15 even 20-0 that you feel good enough where you can just run down the clock.
