Wedding Bands

Recommended Posts

Its actually my one superstition. If I don't wear it, I have a crap game.

Kinda funny, I am taking this season off from house league. I lost my wedding band a few weeks ago and my nhl09 game has gone down the crapper since.

How's the marriage holding up since you lost the ring? I hear wives tend to get upset when that symbol of "undying love" goes missing...

Shortly after getting married, the wife went to visit her parents for the weekend and I spent the whole weekend partying. About an hour before she was due home I was going nuts trying to find my ring with absolutely no luck at all. Finally I ended up telling her I left it on the bathroom sink and the cat must have knocked it under something while playing with it. When I got home from work the next night, she had it sitting on the kitchen counter. Evidently she found it under the stove, so the cat must have actually done it. Nothing better than pulling an excuse out of your ass and having it be accurate.

Other than her nagging me to find it, its still good.

I have never noticed that I had my ring on. It's probably because I am distracted by the constant suffocating feeling that the slow death marriage brings. ;)

I didn't realize that my wife had a sister.

I take it that neither of your "others" (I won't unnecessarily refer to them as significant) come on here at all?? ;)

Well, just in case they (or mine, for that matter) ever did come on here, actually ever telling them what your user name was would be a grave mistake in clear violation of Men's Common Sense (not to be mistaken for actual common sense).

Oh no, she's "significant" all right.

Oh, no. If it has anything to do with hockey, she'd grab the hazmat equip & treat it as if it were tuberculosis.

i always wore mine during hockey games since i had gloves on but after seeing some of those pictures i'm considering not wearing it. i take it off when i play basketball. so i guess hockey isn't much different. i don't really feel a difference when i play though.

I wear a tension ring so I take that off incase I wedge the stone out and lose the diamond. I forgot to take it off one game but didn't really notice anything.

I never wear my wedding ring on my finger. I keep it threaded through my watch band. It pisses off my wife, but so be it.

On our fire engines, we carry a ring cutting tool specifically to cut rings off of fingers. I've seen enough people de-gloved to never want to wear a ring on my finger.

De-gloved? I don't think I want to know what that means. So, you guys can actually get your ring off when you want to without a bucket of ice water and 20 minutes of your left arm in the air?

Always have mine on around a platinum chain for cycling or hockey. never removed from my body but not big on rings on the finger. Suffer from Raynaud's phenomenon and no you cannot use that one in Vegas boys

I take mine off and leave it at home. It's just not worth the small chance of it getting it and my hand messed up. I may get a stainless chain to keep with me to wear it in case I forget to take the ring off at home.

I wouldnt wear it. Its too easy to injur your hand, to lose the stone or ring when taking your glove off plus its much easier to pick up women after the game with no ring.

Wow, this is crazyness reading through this. I have a wedding ring that I wear around my neck but for my actual wedding ring finger, I got a tattoo with her Initial on it. All this crushing talk is why I never wore rings in the first place.

2 years ago I fell funny during a scrimmage and my ring finger bent back and the ring got pushed up to my knuckle by my stick. I was unable to get my ring off for a week (with soap and water) and unable to get it back on to this day. Went to the doc and got x-rays, it showed nothing. I still have pain in my finger, it sometimes feels like it pops in and out of place. I highly recommend not wearing a ring while playing hockey.

I'm getting married later this year if all goes right, popping the question and shelling it out for the ring here in the next few weeks, i'm a little worried about rings too, i've had some issues wearing rings over the years to the point where i refuse to even wear chains (somehow caused me to get a tad bit shocked a few years back) all this reading has me worried about my already messed up fingers

Why would you be worried about a ring? Just take it off before you play. Simple.

I always take mine off.....not because I fear injuring my finger or damaging it but because every time I've forgotten to take it off I have a bad game. It stays in the bag in the locker room when i'm on the ice.

well - I'd not say I'm "accident prone guy, and very forgetful" but eventually had to pay for all this taking ring on-off (not just at hockey, but at the gym where I simply didn't have an option of keeping the ring on - it'd have gotten damaged by bars etc) - lost it

its not about being forgetful or accident prone to better say the least, i just attract accidents thanks to some friends, i think the best part about all of this is the fact that i'll be married :-D
