Favorite Toe Curve?

Recommended Posts

Pavel Demitra's stick has a huge toe curve

I think I mentioned earlier in this thread how much I loved that stick. I used his prostocks back in high school when he was still with the blues. Brings back memories. . .

Edit: actually earlier I said I'd love to use the Koivu curve if i could find it.

I still haven't figured out how to shoot with the Lehoux, a couple of partial coaching sessions and I gave up.

And I thought the old Yzerman curve was wicked. Wow, that looks like it'd be hard enough just to stickhandle with it...

The thing that is weird is that I can shoot with it fine... but the accuracy I couldn't get down. I could pretty much hit a 4' by 2' target but had no idea where it was going within that target.

So then you really can't shoot with it eh?

Okay so some people were saying with a toe hook you can just have the puck at the toe and fling it to the net, but if you do that how do you put any flex on the stick?

Same as any other pattern.

If you were referring to my post; I was talking about in close, shoveling the puck over the goalie.

It leads to the ultimate fake-out. You eye the top corner and release, goalie watches goes for that corner and all the sudden the puck flies the other direction.

Was eyeing down a Smyth yesterday...if my team wasn't moving me to D I'd be scrambling to pick one up. I find pure toe curves for me aren't as good as mid-toe, but that's my shooting style. I think I like a curve that is almost curved through the entire length of the blade, even if it's slight.
