Gloves with the most open cuff/thinnest palm?

Recommended Posts

In the market possibly for a new set of mitts, and was wondering which gloves have the most "open cuffs"? I want them flared out as much as possible as I dont like them hitting my wrist. Probably looking at Eagle or Muskoka correct? Also, which retail gloves have the thinnest palms?

Eagle cuffs aren't really flared- they're shorter to not restrict movement. The Fury gloves I have are flared out more than the X70, Vapor, TPS, Bauer 4-roll, Mission and Jofa gloves I've owned/recall trying on.

MSH2 palm on the PPF with the MSH1 overlay cut off is probably borderline thinnest. I think the Warrior/MIA custom sheet lists which of their palms is thinnest, and you can probably ask them about extending and flaring the cuff and see what kind or charge you'd get. Might be able to swing a set of Franchise with a custom cuff for under $200.

My Vapor XXX gloves have a pretty wide open cuff. The palms are pretty thin too but seem to be holding up really well.

Jumping on the XXX bandwagon as well. Although I do love my Vector Pro's with the adjustable cuff all the way open. Kind of heavy, but it's like a tighter fitting TPS glove.

XXX's are probably bang on for what you're looking for

I would say thinnest palm in retail is a toss up between the XXX and PPF with MSH2 no MSH1 overlay.

Eagle Sentry has by far the most flared cuff of any glove ever made in my opinion. The weight as much as a cinder block though, and the palm is made of burlap.

+1 for the PPF MSH2 palm with no MSH1 palm overlay. A while back I saw from one of the threads that MSH2 is thinner than digital.

Digital isn't very thin, no more so than nash. IMO that is.

Chris- I can measure my XX and TPS to see how they compare if you want. Post up what gloves and sizes you've had to see if someone with a XXX set can compare them, I don't want you to get the wrong size if the XX fit longer... IDK why they would, my XX fit like my buddy's V gloves and I recall 13" pro Samuelsson XXX fitting quite snug and tiny on my hands. I prefer 15" for the hand but get 14" for the overall cuff size.

FWIW, I wear a 14" in Vapor XX's, and even though the fingers are shorter, due to the looser overall fit, I prefer a 13" in the Vapor XXX.

Have a double layer of MSH2. Shows no signs of wearing thin whatsoever. Could have probably went with a single layer, no problem.

Tour G7 Pro, anyone?

Never paid attention to the palm material, but they've got a good range of wrist motion, for sure.

My single layer MSH2 palm is holding up beautifully. It's easily my favorite palm.

Had em. Palms are thick as butter. Awful

Nice gloves though, but I sold em because of the palms.
