Crosby has overtaken the Habs forwards. And, have you seen the "smear" ads that Kane & Toews did against each other? I think they are posted on the Hawks site. TSN showed them. They are on YouTube too. Search for:

"kane toews all star"

Sidenote: The ad for the Winter Classic is a great ad.

Shout out to B's fans: I've been down on the guy in the past but Tim Thomas deserves those votes. Let's get him in there. The top stopper in the East shouldn't have to hope for a coach's selection.

In addition to that, some montreal newspaper reporters got some computer hackers to modify the script to add a certain number of votes to Crosby and Malkin to see if the league would subtract those votes from the tally the way it did for the Habs. The league didn't. I guess there's a double standard for Crosby. Or maybe the league doesn't have the control over the voting that they claim.

I think its time to go back to paper ballots. 4 teams? just 4? and come on, anaheim isnt even doing that great. No red wings, bruins, or sharks? how is that possible. This is an embarrassment to the NHL. It should be:

West

Datsyuk

Thornton

Getzlaf

Lidstrom

Niedermayer

Nabokov

Malkin

Ovechkin

Komisarek(give the Homers 1 not 4)

If you are only going to allow 1 of the Haba....it's gotta be Markov. He's Top 5 in D scoring...was a AS last year. I don't even think Komisarek should be on a ballot.

I think a problem has to be with the home teams advertising to vote for the players from there home team. On NESN after the ballot was released they ran promos asking fans to vote for Chara, Savard, and Bergeron. I think you could make a case for Savard starting but certainly not Chara or Bergeron. Chara should be on the team but not as a starter.

It's all a shit show anyway I don't see why the players don't just totally go for the entertainment value and have a huge bench brawl followed the D flipping their sticks so we can see some decent dangles and a big case of slew footing all round followed by Semin playing percussion in between periods.
