Mike Ribeiro Shootout Move

Recommended Posts

Go try that with 20000 fans in the stand and the other team who will bust your balls all year if you missed it.

That was an extremely creative move and it takes guts to try that...

I didn't think it was that great of a move to be honest, different, but could have been pulled off better.

I think this move of his is better:

i dunno, sick move and all, but i thought you werent allowed to stop on a penalty shot..?

The puck continued moving forward, that's all that matters.

Ya know, at first i thought the shootout was a great idea and hoped they would actually use it, and after finaly seeing one like (Rangers v pens) i would much rather a 2nd 4v4 or a 3v3 (if it doesn't turn into a circus)

It was a pretty nice move which I'm surprised he actually pulled off. My favorite shootout goal this year would have to be when Hossa ripped a howie from the hash marks top corner. Nothing better to see than that.

That incident turned the series around, kinda like the Kovalev slash once again vs the Bruins.

Here's the best i can do

It's the last part of the video, just skip ahead. Datsyuk has a beauty too.

Edit: Or just click on the play button beside Hossa where it lists all the goals.

TSN was talking about the best (recent) shootout move...

1. Ribeiro from last night

2. St. Louis's sideways/backwards move

3. Hagman's snow job on Brodeur.

Mackenzie picked Ribs.

Maguire picks St. Louis and says..."people down in Tampa just gotta know to use him in the SO"

Tortorella just looks into the camera and goes "St. Louis. Put him in the God Damn shootout!"

"Wooah, minus points for the foul language!"

Yeah, I just saw that too, thought it was pretty funny.

It was definetly a nice goal. I also thought the celebration was suitable for the occasion (him being boo'd for coming back for the shootout).

Good for him, let him "celebrate" a meaningless goal. he wasnt being boo'ed for coming back for the shutout he was being boo'ed because hes an opposition player. Just like all the other Stars that got boo'ed in the shootout.

WHAT A DONKEY - GRAZ = #1 HATER !!!

Anyways -- Ribiero is quickly becoming one of my favorite NHL players. Avery is right(ok, partially right, mostly Avery is just nuts) -- but stuff like this is entertaining AND good for the league. Stuff like this shows up on sportcenter and as a result, non hockey fans are forced to watch it. It's creative, NEW, and face it -- spectacular (i.e. Lebron's recent dunk).

His cocky attitude is icing on the cake also! At first I thought it was a bit over the top, but later I saw the highlight of him getting smoked during regulation by a hit from behind so the "celebration" was fitting.

Ribiero is talented, fun to watch, creative, and a cocky SOB. Just like "nice guy" players like Iginla/Sakic/Crosby are good for our game -- so are the Averys and Ribieros.

I love this game!
