Right in the pocket created by the curve.

thank you! an i hear people saying that it makes you slap shot and backhands terrible, is that true or do you just need to practice them more?

My slapshot is fine. Backhands are fine as well. Just takes getting used to and practice of course.

Need some comparison help with the curve I'm using. Really liking the big hook but looking for US/Canada curve comparison (curve is European). There are some comparison pictures with an SBK Sakic clone. Looks like it's a lower lie but since hearing about the rocker making the lie play differently, my head is just smushed.

Thanks gurus

Hey guys,

Sort of new here, had accounts in the past and I was either banned or I forgot the password

Anywho, I have a pro-stock Stillman Reebok 10k that I absolutely LOVE. Thing is, I cannot find any stick that is similar, I have gotten so used to this pattern, and now it has a chip half way up the shaft and it is like shooting with a wet noodle. I gotta check Dukes in Toronto soon as I know they have pro stocks, and that is where i got it. But what are other curves that are similar? I also have a warrior AK-27 or w.e, shaft, so I would also be interested in just purchasing the blade, or putting an order in if they are reasonable.

Thanks

And I used the pattern DB and it confused the hell out of me! LOL

Edit:

Check out BASE's BC01. That's the closest pattern I can think. Warrior's Gionta is close to the same curve, but not as much loft. I can vouch for the quality of BASE's blades. Light weight, good feel, and good durability. They're tapered though, so your AK27 shaft won't work.

the slovak curve from warrior looks just amazing... but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend 250$... on a curve...

Base makes it in a tapered blade.

I have a question.

I've played pretty much this whole season with CrazyOvi curve and I love it, shots are great and passing is good. But the only negative thing is that stick handling seems to be a little harder with open curve like that. I lose the puck way too often. Same thing happened with P92 when I tried it couple seasons ago.

So I'm thinking about trying Warrior Gionta curve next. And the question is, has anyone gone from CrazyOvi/Kremlin/Ovi pro to Gionta? Is it difficult to get adjusted to closed curve after something like CrazyOvi? I've never even seen Gionta curve in person, so I haven't been able to check it out.

I find my stickhandling improved greatly with the Gionta. Passing, forehand and backhand were better, and backhand shots improved ten-fold.

Regular shots suffered a bit, but my accuracy improved. I find I'm better off getting in close with the Gionta curve and making a move on the goalie, versus shooting the puck like crazy and from everywhere with a Sakic or Ovi-style curve.

Thanks for the answer. Have you noticed any big difference with your slapshots or one timers? I love my one timers with CrazyOvi.

i've used, the ovi/ hossa/ kovalchuk, i have no probleme with stick handling but if you try the kovalchuk, or hossa ( it only opens at the end) for kovalchuk kynetik makes them, and hossa base makes them

or try to get a duchene but it will be very hard i got one but they are REALY stiff.

Got a quick question and I didn't know if i should've started a new thread for it. I've been looking at a new stick and the Miken Z9 caught my eye. I'm currently using a Base stick in a BC01. I was wondering if the BP14 or BP8 would be closer to that. I have an Ovechkin clone One95 as well but that was a bit too much of a wedge for me. I also can't seem to find any retailers that carry the Z9 in a BP8.

would you guys have a lower kick or a mid-kick for big toe curves? I could see a low kick with a gionta, but not really with a p08..

by the way, if any of you is ordering from base, pm me, I can't get a grip on these guys..
