Was the blade safety end tip put on so you couldn't cut your leg while playing/skating?

Well, it wasn't put on for looks. I just watched something with Ted Lindsay last night he caught the back of some guy's skate in his calf and it punctured his leg.

I am waiting for one of the PHEW kids to claim he has buccaneers - dressed like XXXX's.

Yeah, I got them back in '67, when they were trying new radical designs. Notice how the "XXXX" is smaller and of a different color than the stock. They are pretty sweet to skate in.

....ha.

Pretty sure I sharpened a pair of those goalie skates last summer. The leather cowlings were interesting.

Everything was so 'rugged' in 1965.

yeah, because they wore made for real men, men who played hockey for r&r, lumberjacks in real life, so they had to be rugged. men who shaved with a rock, not no-men like nowadays  (if someone saw the episode from "cow and chicken" will get it, the rest, sry, didn't mean to spam) :P
