STEVE LARMER

What kind of tape do you use for your equipment?

Recommended Posts

Just testing the waters here to see if anyone has better products than what I currently use...

Stick Handle - White Cloth (doesn't mark up gloves like black)

Stick Blade - Black Friction (Old-school... provides a softer feel using a composite blade)

Shin Guards - Clear Plastic - Has some "give" unlike cloth

Any suggestions???

Stick Handle- Red Cloth. Yes it stains light-colored palms but it's an old superstition and you know how hockey players are superstitious....

Stick Blade- White Cloth

Shin Guards- Don't use tape all the time. I use the WSI "shin sleeves" on a regular basis, but if I know it's going to be a physical game where I may get hit and my pads might shift, I'll use Phat Tape (roller hockey).

Handle - White cloth

Blade - Black cloth, liberal dose of Mr Zog's

Shins - None, I like the freedom of not using any.

Stick Handle: White Cloth. Small knob the width of the tape about 10 times around.

Blade: White Cloth. Stick wax, so it doesn't get all torn up right away. Usually re-tape every 5-6 skates.

Shins: Clear Plastic. Right under the knee and around the ankle.

Handle: Purple or Pink. The brighter the better. :D

Blade: Yellow. The same color as waxed laces and a huge coat of StickyBumps Surf wax. Tropical water version is a must.

Shinpads: Clear or whatever color i have the most of.

Handle: White cloth. Fold regular size tape in half so its like half the size and wrap it around untill I just like it.

Blade: Black or White cloth. Doesn't matter what really, aslong as it's the regular size and I have wax.

Shin Pads: Practice - whatever I take from the boys, game - clear tape
