Mission 2010 skate sneak peek

Recommended Posts

I'm not liking the gold at all, but Commander's look sweet with the blue. I guess I'll have to see the whole skate to get a good look at it and see how it plays out. Looking forward to seeing the Commander's.

Normally I wouldn't like it but in this case I'll have to change my mind. There is something really nice about the way it says "mission" along the side. It also gives the impression to me that it'll somehow look even better in person.

So is Nov. when these skates will be avalible for retail?...I am forced to buy skates online because the closeest shop to me is about 2 hours and they get their "new" stuff like a year late....If their were more advertisment around here for the newer lines of skates people would be all over them, but since the shop sucks, some people think that the Wicked line is the newest skates Mission has put out...

I'm anxious to see the new line of pants.

Im curious too...Is there going to be a Mission glove line as well or just pants?...When should we see some pics of that stuff?

I'm anxious to see the new line of pants.

Just on appearance alone, I'm liking the Pin Stripe pattern for the Commander SE Pant.

If your talking about the shop in Raleigh, we always get our skates on time.

No not talking about 5-hole, just speaking general about shops...5-hole is really the only decent shop in NC, but I know when I got my Boss skates, I got them online way before I ever saw them in the store.

More Photos of Mr Hunt and his skates at the IIHF tourney. (Love those Team Canada jerseys too, i'd like to get my hands on one!)

Here's another view of Michael Hunt's Mission Boss SE Inline Hockey Skates:

Are any of the players from Team USA wearing the Mission Boss SE or Mission Commander SE Inline Hockey Skates?

Judging from these pics, Mr Hunt looks like he has my defensive ability... just kidding!

.....I should just go with the tuxedo jersey and pinstriped pants for my wedding.

Firstly, I 'd like to thank Paul Selvaggio who agreed to let me use some of his excellent photos in this post.

To set the scene. Paul is President and Founder of the Pittsburgh Mission Fusion Roller Hockey team, and I think from the evidence of his photos that i've seen, it's fair to call him their official photographer too.

These photos were taken as part of the Pittsburgh Mission Fusion 18u Midget team's experience at this years Narch finals. They eventually finished 4th out of 23 teams in the Midget Gold Division. They were just 1 goal away from advancing to the gold medal game, but the Mississauga Ratter's put in the game winner at the 2:38 mark in the 2nd period and which put the game out of reach.

Anywho, as a sponsored team they were given a pretty unique fitting experience and presentation at the Mission/Bauer booth which i'm sure we'd all have loved to be a part of. Paul told me that, "This fitting session took over an hour. Both Mission and Bauer representatives gave extensive detailed presentations about their skates, technology and how to fit yourself for the right size skate. It was very informative and the one-on-one they gave our players was awesome. "

Sounds pretty good eh? Well here are some pictures of the fitting:

Now discussing the features of the BOSS SE skates, with Fusion players listening intentely. I've been following what Mission has been doing this year at Narch, and what i find very interesting and exciting is the incorporation and co-operation of the Bauer guys. It seems like they have a great working relationship. As well as this joint session, Mission entered a team in Narch, invited down all the Bauer producted designers, testers (perhaps other technical disciplines) from Montreal and called them the Montreal Tribe. If you check out Mission TV on facebook, they have some clips from their games. From what I gather, it seems the Bauer guys had a blast playing roller hockey.

In this picture they guys in Blue are from Bauer, they are (L-R): Gaetan Champagne (Bauer Skate Developer), Stephane Chalifoux (Bauer Field Test Coordinator), Donald Nault (Bauer Field Test Manager)

I noticed the sign in one of the pics said "New sizing on all 2010 Mission skate" ...Now I have never gone by my shoe size as Mission has always advised..I wear an 8 street shoe and a 6.5D skate.....So whats the deal with the new sizing?

If that wasn't enough to make you envious... they got a lesson on how to properly fit your skates, and had the opportunity to try on the new Boss skates. I think this was a pretty popular feature of the mission booth. If you live near Toronto, get down there, the finals are still running!

In addition to the Skates, the booth is stocked with lots of other Mission and Bauer products, as well as a shooting area using one95s.

Thanks again to Paul for letting me use his shots. Check out the Mission Facebook page there are some pretty interesting videos from Narch, and more product shots.

Great pics.

Are they gonna make the missions the "supreme" line and keep the vapors as the "vapor" line in terms of fit?

That would at least IMO make most sense, instead of having semi similar fits for both the mission and bauer inlineskates.

Supreme last. Boss will have gold, Commander will go blue, Assassin red and Soldier will have a green accent. We will also have an all new low end skate line.

As far as the toe cap, we had to pick something to use based on not being able to develop something new. Not enough development time to make something legit in time for the 2010 season, and didn't want to rush it. We went with the Bauer toe cap because it is one of the better, if not the best, toe caps in the game. We will have some thing new on the 2011 Mission skate line that is in development now.

We now have the ability to utilize the Bauer resources to make our skates. Which has already helped us this year. The concept's are still cooked up on the floors of California. The best roller hockey company and the best skate company in the world. I can only imagine what the next few years may bring.........

Here's the answer to that last post
