Grant Imahara.  A brilliant guy, who by all accounts was a genuinely kind soul.  My son is a Mechatronics engineer and was inspired by watching Grant on Mythbusters.

Dude. I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. I know people pointed out how thin he was but who knew he was battling cancer for 4 years. Dude did Black Panther while doing treatment. Cancer patients are some of the toughest people in the world.
