kyle okposo's "torspo 321's"(rebranded eagle ppf's?).

more importantly, wtf did they do to the tops of the dasher boards this year. carolina has that weird shit through the middle now, too. instead, of one solid flat piece.

*Okposo torspo gloves*

I think they are because jeff finger and tomas holmstrom use the same ones that also look like eagles

Maybe so you can buy one type of dasher and it will have the ability to hold glass or serve as an open board. Perhaps in some way it's cheaper that way.

how often are the caps on the dasher replaced? its not like the board gets reconfigured frequently, too. it just looks like a worse solution than the previous standard style. especially since they have those little insert pieces that are on the rink side of the glass, too. so there's lips, and the posibility for funny bounces since there are more seams

Very good point, it looks like glass could fit in the middle.

I'm gonna be hunting for a pair of 15" tan gloves. wonder if they would do custom orders of that material at warrior, bauer, ccm,or reebok? wonder if its the same material as the throwback pads?

They look more like the retro tan color than they do the bucky style material.

Looks like I was wrong about the Messier Project helmet not giving you the spaceman look like the CHX:

(avery)

Don't know if you realize this, but it looks like his helmet has ended up backwards on his head.

MSG dashers are probably replaced every other day. Knicks, concerts, expos, circus, etc.

I was skating in a clinic at Atlanta's Philips Arena yesterday and notice the same thing when I went to set my Gatorade on the bench.

Probably that way so they can use whatever boards they grab first to insert glass, then put those T-Moldings in the others to create the benches. Not a bad idea for boards that are taken down and put up constantly.

I guess this sort of qualifies as a gear sighting, but I saw an Edge 2.0 jersey at the Pens' team store. It was a Staal and the entire jersey was AirKnit, also for sale it was just on the rack. The Pens have that solid yellow on the sleeve and it was also AirKnit. Was pretty cool to see in person and compared it to an authentic jersey that was 1.0.

I wonder how that got up there. I managed to acquire home and away edge 2.0 lightning jerseys, no one knows the difference but me at the games, but they are still neat to have. The only edge material on them is from the armpit down in a strip that joins the front and back panels. They are 54's and fit like a regular airknit pro stock jersey. I also have an edge 1.0 that came from the team and it is certainly a different fit altogether. Quite honestly I prefer wearing the 1.0 to games as it breathes better and is much cooler to wear on those hot florida walks from the parking lot.

The Pens Station store is always good for some pro issue or team clothes. I've picked up some RBK warmups that were team issue, but never worn. Don't always have a great selection in sizes but you can tell when you look at the UPC code on the tags and it says Dana (Pens EQM's first name).
