Its under where he taped his stick at the top. I agree about the new gloves being a downgrade..... really thought he would do something special. Now I'm disappointed :(

It seems like some teams don't want their players having unique gloves. I noticed it last year with Hossa having to use a red pinky stripe on a red glove, Savard the same way on a black glove. Whether thats to make the team orders from each brand easier, or to underline the team aspect, either way it seems someone is putting there foot down and not letting some of these guys have unique gloves.

Gloves are part of the uniform.

Yea, even this year Hossa has a Black on Black Pinkie stripe. I understand that they want to focus on the team aspect, but come on, It's Kovy.

Yeah, his name is Lou Lamoriello.

Has done it for years, the Devils are one of the strictest teams in the league.

Check out their pants - they do not have a front mfgr logo. It is either side or rear placement. They also do not participate in the EDGE deal for their minor-league affiliates.

Pic 13 in the Habs/Bruins gallery on NHL.com... Miro Satan wearing what looks to be a Bauer S9 with the new Supreme graphics package?

In the same gallery the Habs players in X60's have some type of bracket on the sole and back of the ankle.

I would have figured that they've become less strict with the way they're letting some of these gloves get by, like the XXXX and the "SE16" gloves for example.

isn't he also super-strict about facial hair until the playoffs start?

Yup. And they only recently issued their first number over 30 for a non goalie, and that was for a callup. They had no choice becuase the rest were already assigned to somebody.

There's a reason they don't attract too many big name free agents. Not all players want to deal with Lou.

No numbers over 30? Sounds like my juniors team. You HAVE to have 2-28 if your a player. I'm a traditionalist and don't want to see a bunch of kids wear numbers 30-98, (and those idiots who wear 99), but its kind of ridiculous in today's world not to allow it. I can see a cap at only 8 players or something above 30, i wouldn't want the whole team to do it, but no one? Weak.

By the sounds of it i'm surprised Lou allows players to wear shields and composite sticks!

He prefers the reps stay out in the parking lot and do their business with players there. He is not fond of reps.

Ha, in that case if I were a rep servicing NJ, I'd do it street dealer-style. Wear a trenchcoat. It'd be par for the course in Newark.

"I got these one-pieces, dawg, check it out!"

If he thought he could get away with it, he probably wouldn't allow those either.
