Hockey Related room/mancave ideas

Recommended Posts

Im redoing a room to make it hockey related. its just going to be like a hang out room/mancave. Just seeing if anyone on here has any ideas, here are some i came up with...

Mounted HDTV cords will be hidden through old broken shafts.

Wall colors will be gold on top and navy on bottom and a silver border,(sabres)

xbox 360 w/live

signed hockey sticks hung on walls

poster (not spending 100 on a fathead)

puck collection(s)

any ideas are appreciated!

There are rugs/carpeting with team logos, as well as pool table felt.

A company out of Arlington, MA (I think) makes good-looking furniture out of hockey sticks.

Someone posted a thread here of the modifications he made to a bubble hockey game. Actually, I'm not sure if it was actually bubble hockey or has another name.

Photos on the wall of iconic moments: Jim Craig with the American flag draped over him. Bobby Orr flying through the air.

Mounted jerseys.

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but the room will not be compete without posters of the Ice Girls from every respective team, especially your favourite team. If you are unable to collect each of the posters, then the actual girls will do. ;)

dasher board walls all around. put a rink door with glass as the real door, or at least paint it that way. bubble hockey is a great idea, full bar

Were I to do over my basement, my idea was to have the door to that side be a penalty box door, rink gate with glass above, complete with the press-down latch to open it.

I did my kids room as a rink, white board all the way around with a red top trim dasher and yellow kick board. The top part is painted Avalanche Blue so it looks sick with all of his hockey memorabilia (mostly Avs stuff). And as an added touch he used to shoot knee hockey pucks and stuff of the boards so they are scuffed up like real boards.

Bubble hockey would be outstanding.

I'm not big on the idea of broken hockey sticks and shafts as furniture...although I would happily hang up an auto'd stick.

Framed jerseys/pucks/etc would be nice as well. Plus pennants, posters, all that stuff.

Big TV / stereo / speakers and all that.

Personally, I'm going to build a locker big enough for my equipment and my kid's (assuming he plays when he gets older), just a simple one made of mahogany, a nice stain, and a brass nameplate. Add a little stick holder on the side. Should look really nice.

check out lovesacs... they are these amazing bean bag things which are bad ass... best man cave chair ever. The website is lovesac.com (not a dirty website) you also need the essentials...

-GIANT ASS TV (at least 42")

-Awesome sound system for sure!

-Maybe some flags or something of the Sabres.

-NHL center ice in HD is honestly the most important thing...

That's all we did.....started as a play room then slowly became a locker room that we built basic locker rooms for all the kids equipment, etc.

Is that the one where they are both bleeding?

yea, http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/98757/19..._jim_rocket.jpg

If I recall correctly, is that the game the rocket left because he got railed by LaBine, then came back to score the winner?

Yes, he had to ask Elmer Lach how much time was left because he couldn't focus on the scoreboard. Then after the game he abruptly burst into sobs and had to be sedated.
