Easton S19 helmet

Recommended Posts

Back first! That's unheard of. Also unheard of ear pieces that slide out, although I guess for NHL players that's a plus. Interested to see how that works, and how they effect the sizing of the helmet.

I wants one. My S9 will remain my player helmet, but I need a new referee bucket. S19 should do nicely.

It's a M, 7 1/4 biggest setting. It is snug however I took off the ear guards (which are pretty neat actually, they slide out), works fine if I put it on back-first.

Probably more like...

You would think that the Easton website would have a feature page by now. SIGH! I've finaly gotten used to the new look. How about you guys?

On Iginla, it looks ridiculous, but on Loui Eriksson it looks the same as the S9/S17 (which is terrible on his tiny head btw).

I tried this helmet on in medium and large. My head size is 7 3/8, pretty standard. Large was too big and couldn't use the plastic back snaps to make it fit right. The old baseball hat back plastic strap is 100% correct. That is the only way to adjust for fit. I tried on a medium and it pinched the back of my head behind the ears. Yes, this helmet is wicked light but if it doesn't fit you perfectly, you cannot wear it. It has a very narrow profile. I imagine guys with Dumbo ears will never get it to fit comfortably with the HECC clear ear pieces hugging against their ears. Just more food for thought before you go coo-coo for Cocoa-Cocoa Puffs.

This was myexperience too, medium fit just like you described, didn't have a large in stock to try on though but all larges on other helmets i've tried on are too big. Medium felt so small around my ears that if I took the ear pieces off my ears would probably stick out like wings, and I don't have dumbo ears!

maybe they will have a size between M and L, I though I read there will be more than 3 sizes on this thread?

Yeah, rated it off the charts across the board without every doing anything more than putting it on his head, once. Reviews where someone stumbles through reading the tech sheets are utterly pointless at best and disingenuous more often than not.

I'm really curious to see your review on this. Being light is one thing, but comfort is another factor and being as stiff as it I'm interested to see what will happen if you fall on your noggin.

I just love how many times he makes a statement then says "I'm pretty sure, I'm not really sure, not 100% sure." lol

That crush test visual is pretty impressive. Is there anything to suggest that's a serious contributor to head injury prevention?

I think the best thing it has going for it is that it's visually appealing and by the looks of it comfy. The M11 isn't exactly a looker and according to that poster it doesn't provide much support. The 9500 isn't the most comfortable helmet on the market. The 8k is comfy but it's definitely warm. This looks like it could not only provide some serious fight against head injuries, but that it might also be widely adopted for its weight factor and comfort. Although we should probably wait for JR to try this thing on in a game.

This'll work. And it'll look good too. (fast forward to 4:58)
