Entry/Intermediate level gloves

Recommended Posts

So... I'm currently playing with the crappiest gloves you've ever seen, which offer no feel and look like they're plastic. My game does not require a top end glove (or a top end anything really) but I would like something that's mid-level and offers good protection and feel. Hence, here's what I've seen so far:

- CCM 4-ROLL PRO '09

- CCM V10 (used) '08

- CCM V06 '09

- Bauer Vapor XXV

- Eagle X5

- Warrior AK27 '09

- Warrior Syko '09

- Farrell G200

All of these are about the same price range. Which would you think is the best option, considering that trying them out is not an option?

Thanks all!!

PS: I didn't find anything on this level gloves using the search function.

If I were you I would grab the Vapor XXV's or the Eagle X5.

If you don't mind moving away from a traditional glove you could try a supreme One55 or spend a lil extra $$$ and get the One75.

Whatever you do, dont get the One35's, I could bend them with my pinkie

Hockey Monkey still has the Mission Pro Stock gloves for $68 after using the coupon at checkout. I have 2 pair and love them. Great protection and mobility.

Good call. The ccm pro 4 rolls aren't bad either. Just make sure you like the palm on it.

The advise in itself is great. My only problem there is shipping. I'm in Argentina and it would cost me $70 to get them shipped over here (they must send them in a brazilian rosewood case wrapped in platinum tape). My bad for not clarifying that.

Argentina, eh? My dad's from Buenos Aires, I had no idea there was any hockey down there whatsover.

I liked the CCM 4 Rolls I tried on at the show in Vegas. Not a bad glove at all.

I could use some of that rosewood for my next guitar project. Want to ship it up when you're done with it? ;)

I like the construction of the glove , just not the palm.

I'm right here in Buenos Aires... born and raise too. There's not a lot of hockey here. Just a few of us, enough to put about 8 teams together to get a league going, and hoping that it will catch on (dreaming is more like it). Gear is literally non existent here too but we do what we can to get to play a little.

Haha... I would actually use it myself for a 000 acoustic. Or a nice strat slab board fingerboard. You make your own guitars?? That's awesome man!!

My complete bias opinion would be the Bauers. I could never get into Easton anything, other than their sticks.

We think alike lol. Although fwiw the SE16's are the only 4 roll glove I've ever found to be comfortable, and I think that's what it comes down to. The XXV's are a great glove as well but they are two different styles.

TJ, I know your access is limited, but do you know how you like gloves to fit? It might help you to try on gloves of friends/teammates that are from the brands and lines that you're considering. They may not have the exact same glove, but it would give you an idea of fit and might help steer your decision.
