So Shelley gets two games and Semin gets one game for his crosscheck to the back of Liles' head. How does Semin get one game for that while Briere gets 3?!

I think I know the answer you're looking for..............because the NHL hates the Flyers.

I catch myself thinking that sometimes even though I don't really think so.

I could have sworn Semin got a game out of it. Even worse that he was only fined...

First offense for Semin, multiple offenses for the other guys?

Textbook example of the new rule from what I can see. Leads with the elbow from the blind side and elevates as the hit is thrown. Sad thing is it looks like there was no penalty for the hit, assuming I'm looking at the right box score. That usually means no suspension from Colie the Magnificent.

Correct, no penalty was given.

Thanks for adding to the conversation Chippa.

It was almost like Kaleta kept his back to Blake on purpose. Most players on that kind of a dump would have turned to the side following through on the dump. Blake still shouldn't have hit him in the numbers since there was plenty of time to avoid it. My bet, no suspension.

Normally I would say suspension for sure...but in this case I kinda don't mind if they "accidentaly" forget about reviewing the hit.

It was just an early xmas gift for Kaleta

He got 5 and a game. That is usually the tip off to 1-2 game suspension. I think that is worse than the "guy turned away at the last second" type hits. Blake had LOTS of time (as you say) to get out of the way and he still chose to crank him.

While I am not a Sabres fan and kinda dislike Kaleta, that's got suspension written all over it. But probably not more than 2.

Mute to get rid of the worst homers I've ever heard. Lucic definitely should have a suspension coming for the punch on Meyer while being taken away. Then the hit to begin the brawl is in question as well, though I don't see it as suspendable.

Meyer went for the head and should be suspended, but he won't because it wasn't a blind side hit and that's all they are worried about this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they both get a free pass, and Savard (the little faker) gets suspended for something.

Ok Colie, spin the "random wheel of suspensions" and tell us what they win....

You would think one of his co-workers would suggest to stop using the word "haymakers" every time there's a fight

The FSN-South/Thrashers feed was more neutral in their calling of the brawl.

Edwards yapped that Brian Little now has a suicide pact just b/c he went for Savard? Then screams Savard wails away and Savard hasn't even thrown a punch in the fight.

I saw that and didnt think it was actually that bad - i was expecting to see spezza get hit into the boards head first or something along those lines.

It looks like he was trying to body letang out of the way and establish his body position but letang wasnt actually that close to him so he lost his balance and ended up falling on his hand?

letang's hands were on his back but it didnt even look like he pushed him. I don't know, i'm undecided on that one.

I know it isnt NHL but Kassian got 2 games for his hit against the Czech's last night, and I was shocked to hear people call it a clean hit, if it were an NHL game McKenzie would be screaking for 4 games, but he and McGuire claimed it was clean, never have I seen such Homer-ism, and this is coming from a canadian. It is a prime example of the hit the nhl is trying to eliminate, and they saw no problem with it.
