What gloves does Ryan Smyth wear?

Recommended Posts

I don't know much about gloves and even less about Warrior gloves... What model Warrior gloves are these and are they sold at retail or only a pro stock item? They look awesome.

To me they look like a regular franchise with a TPS HG1 style custom long cuff. But that's just a guess.

If you are on the "in" with some one at warrior, you might be able to get something that custom. Of course at an additional price.

Those are the Warrior "Gretzky Man Crush" gloves

Hahaha everything about him screams Gretzky Man Crush.

But yeah I was thinking of those with nylon (that shiny leather is too much) and I was wondering what I would pay for a pair like that.

In his defence, the silvertip wasn't exclusive to Gretzky. Yes his last shaft had that but so did about three other lines of shafts. Other than that, yeah, he's a total Gretzkyfag.

Just a shot in the dark here. But they are probably a warrior franchise with a custom cuff. I'm also guessing he may use 'old style' elbow pads. In short, an elbow pad that doesn't have the built in forearm/wrist protection, so he probably needs that long cuff.

Here's a crappy picture of his equipment from the 05-06 season. His elbow pads look like standard Jofa's with forearm protection. So he probably is just copying his hero.

I guess the only difference between the schmucks that wear their 99 jerseys to drop in and Smyth is that Smyth plays in the NHL and the schmucks don't.

I love those guys. I prefer to wear the number of an unsung hero. #5 for Bill Barilko. My buddy wears #14 for Dave Keon.

Has anyone ever got their hands on a pro stock Ryan Smyth stick/shaft? I'm just curious to find out how short it is. When he's working behind the net or in corners he uses it like a little poking stick.

I am working on obtaining one of them. I am kinda interested in the composite knob...

I didn't know about his mancrush on Gretz. You learn something new every day... :)

At #94, he's not far off.

This thread now makes me slightly embarrassed to wear 94, although it isn't for Smyth's reasons.
