I've used the liquid stick flex on my blade and found it nice and grippy. It works well for scooping the puck off the boards while only having one hand on the stick. Not very durable but it touches up easily with more coating.

So, they essentially make a rubbery coating that goes over tape for increased puck feel and to make tape last longer ($3 a roll is cheap anyway), as well as attack pads that aren't self-adhesive and thus require quite a bit more work to attach?

Hmm.

Hmm.

I'm pretty sure the grip pads ARE self adhesive.

that is a lot of work just to put on something that replicates stick wax and the bladetape stuff... I MIGHT try the dressing, but I was never a fan of not having friction on the bottom of my blade. I hated the baldetape when I tried it when it first came out, and now that you have to sand and prime.. forget it.... also, I have tried 3m tape and it is a lot thinner than Renfrew.. It was like trainers tape... performance wise, I am not sure if there was a difference... if anything it is lighter. BUt because 3m has been known to make very good products.. I will give them the benefit of the doubt (except the blade grip tapes)

I used the 3M white tape for my stick and I found it lasts twice as long as the renfrew stuff

I'm going to keep using it and plan on picking up a bottle of the liquid flex next time I'm at CT

The liquid flex coating has become a must-have for me. I've played 3 games with it and it just enhances puck control by a good 25%. It almost feels like cheating... Way better than wax. I strongly recommend trying it!

Also, if you double coat the bottom of the blade, your tape lasts double the time it usually does.

Ah, you are correct. It is the sanding you must do and then add a primer. I'd mistaken it for the adhesive as I did not have the volume turned up to listen (GF sleeping).

Funny, I was just going to try the 3M safety walk tape on my blade.

A poster a while back said when he got some Bladeshark grip tape it was just 3M safety walk relabeled.

EDIT: WOW that voiceover guy was excited.

I personally don't think this will be successful purely because it requires too much work for a performance factor that is negligible at worst. Most players don't really care about the stick tape (not me personally, I find it a religious experience LOL) and just tape the stick again when it gets worn down.

Maybe not, but the profit margin has to be insane.

I don't really understand the profit margin part...are you saying they will charge high prices for this product which costs very little to make?

Does the grip eventually disappear due to water like with wax? Also, is this available in the states?

I am looking at the 3M products right now in Canadian Tire. Going to buy one of the liquid flex stuff and try it out. Damn you guys.

I'd imagine it would cost pennies to make these things and they'd charge $5-10.
