Tickets to Penguins Games

Recommended Posts

Just how hard is it to get tickets on game day for Penguins games? I was thinking of making a road trip to catch a game sometime and wasn't sure about how hard it would be to snag tickets outside the arena.

From scalpers? There are plenty of them, but the tickets are incredibly expensive from them. There is the Student Rush program, but you better line up at 9am for a 7pm game. Overall the tickets are pretty difficult to come buy unless you're willing to pay a significant markup on the face value. This is my experience in any case.

You can be guarenteed to "find" tickets , as there will be scalpers. But youll pay dearly for them. A 75 dollar , face value ticket , will probably set you back 120 - 160. The closer to puck drop you can wait , the better your price from those guys. And those guys can sell sand to a beach bum , so be firm........good luck

Why not just purchase them before you leave?

Right now there is a 3 yr waiting list for season tix, and single game tix are nearly impossible to get, unless you get em on e bay , or what not. But even then , you gonna pay alot more than FV. Its not as hard as say , the habs or leafs. But its deffinatly not tampa or atlanta , where you'd just call'em up and they'd send ya 2 tix

Or Pittsburgh the last two years before Sid when they couldn't put 9k people in the building with any consistency.

I know people who have successful finding them on ebay, and other friends who wait until after the puck drops and haggle with scalpers. I don't think they're that elusive, but it's certainly harder since they moved into the new building.

I don't know about trying to find tickets day of the event but whenever I go to Wings games, I use stubhub.com. They are tickets sold by ticket holders who can't make the game and want to get rid of them. There are usually some pretty good deals around here. Sometimes there are overpriced but most of the time, I just check it regularly and can find some good seats at a good price a couple days beforehand. That's how it is in Detroit at least.

i can tell you from experience that the ticketmaster link i posted is the best way to get valid tickets - and the only reason why i know that is because i am a season ticket holder and have sold tickets on there before. the penguins have a minimum price that you can't go below - but often times i post tickets for the minimum price just so they will sell.

i'm not saying it isn't possible to get valid tickets from ebay, stub hub, or a scapler for cheaper, just that you won't know for sure.

+1 for stubhub. I have purchased many tickets through them, all with great success. Sure, you pay more. I recently purchased Pens/Rangers tickets for March in Pittsburgh.

not sure i understand that completely - my tickets say $81 on them (which is what i pay) but when i go to sell them on ticketmaster the minimum price it lets me list them for is $110 which is gate price.

does that help at all?

For the record, I've never paid over face value on stubhub for Wings tickets. I've got $75 for like $15 but sometimes it just depends on when you look for them here. Also, I'd imagine Pittsburg games are more rare than they are here. Gotta love that Michigan economy.

Its total HELL trying to get hawks tix.

I tried to get tickets for the cup finals last year and for the same cost as two tickets, I spent a week in St Martin.
