Easton Stealth RS Stick

Recommended Posts

Most of us are always great about name changes, knowing which curve compares to what, and keeping with the times as far as gear goes, but companies like Easton need to cool it with such drastic switches year to year.

"Oh yeah, that old toe curve called the Shanny that everyone loved? Let's bring it back, but it has to have a current name... so let's call it Cammalleri. What's that? Zetterberg has ditched our stuff? Hmm, let's call THAT one Cammalleri!"

Everyone knows it's because Cammalleri changed his curve. This is just what he uses now.

So are they still bringing back the old Shanny curve? If so, anyone know what it will be called?

The Shanahan curve is only offered in the Mexican-made sticks - they probably don't have the molds in China. That's why you saw it on the EQ50 and ST.

We will have the RS coverage on Aug 1 (well, maybe a couple of days after that, might still be recovering from SJ)

Why would PSHG say the RS in the show are fake? Odd.

Some difference between the S19 and the RS: the way the shaft and blade/elliptical hosel are attached. Saved 40 grams (forgot exact weight, but was around that number) by using a tongue and groove method instead of the tradition method of fusing the two ends with extra material. The flex profile of the stick is now similar to other sticks, no longer needing to over stiffen the shaft (S17 shafts were too soft, so they made the S19 stiffer to make it true to stamped flex). The blade is redesigned, the reinforcement bar in the blade has been moved, less change of breakage.

Asked what the RS means...not even the rep knew (and Easton is a small office).

Probably the best stick to be released in Q4 in my opinion.

I disagree. There is going to be some great competition this Q4 between all the companies. Happy (sales wise) that Bauer has some competition this fall. New reebok looks best to me. At my shop we're split about 25/25/25/25% on what new stick coming out is the most impressive, which is something that is usually 60/40, 70/30. so this should be a great year for new sticks. So many quality, impressive sticks being released.

When will these be released? Is this octoberish?

RS release is early Octoberish, just in time for the start of the new season.

I do like the new Reebok stick, not crazy about the cosmetics myself, but it's an interesting challenge to Bauer's line.

Now you guys have got me curious, what exactly is this new Rbk stick? Just the next sick-kick (12K or some such thing), or a totally new line? Any reason it looks so impressive?

Google is your friend!

Seems like some good offerings come Fall 2011.

Whoa, pretty interesting concept on the Ai9. Looks like Easton's elliptical taper outlasted Reebok's speed holes. (Assuming the Ai9 replaces the O-Stick line).

Edit: Wait, unless that red design is actually holes. Can't wait to hear all the specs.

Innovative Novius...I'll leave that one to JR to comment on when the time is right...

LOL no...Novius was stiffer on the backside of the shaft, making it hand-specific.

I'd be curious to hear what the mods/insiders think as to what extent Easton cannibalized S19 sales by introducing the RS so early. Certainly, there's a ton of buzz for the RS launch.

It isn't anything different than any other launch...nothing has been introduced, the public just knows of a new stick. This will all be unveiled in August.

I really regret not getting an Ian White RS at the sharks sale. They were a steal at $150 brand new. And they weren't repaints.

What? WOW! Definitely should've snatched one up!
