nicholus.h 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 I play D, so I didn't get mine until the first game of my second season. End-to-end, beat the goalie 5-hole. I was pretty happy. My girlfriend was on the bench, but she was tying her skate and she didn't see it.
5 Minute Major 1 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 Mine was the ugliest! lol It was in my first JV game in HS. I was way off balance with one leg in the air. I just barely tipped it in with one hand on my stick while trying to regain my balance. lol
CaptainFantastik 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 Mine was back in 1994 playing in a beer league game or scrimmage (I didn't start playing hockey till age 17). I was playing defense and wristed a weak shot across the ice from the point and it went in....probably 5 hole or something. Total garbage goal that only went in because there were several people screening the goalie but it still felt good.
bigdmac 12 Report post Posted June 11, 2011 It was my first year of hockey, so I think I was about 10. I was standing in front of the net, a kid took a shot from about the top of the circle, hit my glove and beat the goalie 5 hole. I even tried to get out of the way, but didn't move fast enough haha. EvilPepe 24 Report post Posted June 11, 2011 I've always been a goalie first, and the times I played out as a kid I was usually a defenseman so the goals didn't come often.I remember being 8 or so and their being a bit of a scrum in the corner. Their 2nd defenseman moved off the net to help, I dropped in from the point just as one of our guys came up with it. Pass to the slot, top cheese. Only other goal I scored until the beerleagues was during a tournament when the other team forfeited, and the ref said someone from our team had to put a puck in the net to make it "official". Of course they gave it to the goalie to do
Wildcat85 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 Mine was in my first year playing pewees. I was coming into he zone trying to dump it in but both times it hit the d man and bounced back to me. I decided that god wanted me to have the puck so I carried it between the d man at the top of the circles. Flubbed a weak shot under the goalie armpit and scored. I had no idea I would score so I just stick my one arm in the air like an idiot haha. I was using a vapor xxxx p91 ill never get rid of it :-)
jeremyp 3 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 I'm 38 and just started playing hockey last year for the first time. I've been playing in a weekly pickup game for the past year to get a hang of it and I just joined my first mens' league for the summer. Tonight we played our second game and I scored my first ever goal. I was playing RW and my LW rifled a shot from the left side that was stopped and the rebound came my way...I snapped a wrister past the goalie through the 5-hole. It definitely felt great to get my first goal, but I'm hoping for many more to come.
goaliemanshark 6 Report post Posted June 27, 2011 Been playing since i was like 5. Im 23 now... Scored for the first time in a real league game tonight. In my defense i was a goalie since two years ago, and now im a super defensive D man.It was a 5 on 3, d to d pass to me, then i ripped a slapper center mass into the goalie. He bobbled it and it went in! Very special moment for me.
XveritasX 13 Report post Posted June 28, 2011 I don't remember my first ever goal but I do remember my first goal when I came back to hockey a couple years ago. My team mate passed the puck from behind the net to me in the slot and I shot it into an open net. Would of been more memorable if the goal really mattered but the team I was on got placed in the wrong division for the first few games and we won 20-1 that game with only 7 or 8 skaters. Jarick 5 Report post Posted June 29, 2011 Youth: puck hit me in the cage, everyone stopped like they thought I was going to die, but I skate up ice and scored into an empty net against a team that was a year younger. Yeah I wasn't very good.Adult: can't remember exactly, I was going to the net and there was a scrum in the crease and I whacked the loose puck in.
Vinny_R 1 Report post Posted July 4, 2011 First as a kid: I was beside the goaler and he covered the puck with his trapper, but got up as soon as he put his hand on the puck. I was going to my bench and my coaches was yelling at me to put the puck in the net because the ref didn't wisthle (spelling?). I give a little tap on the puck, it made all around the net (inside) than I went to my bench, arms in the airs, one knee up (Lemieux like) and fist pumping. I was 6 or so.As an adult when I started back playing hockey after 6-7 years without playing I found out I had a pretty good slapper, but the safer place to be when I was shooting was in the net. So one time I was coming full speed from the bench after a change and the puck bounced out of a scrum in front of the net. So I winded up, slapping a bomb top shelf. Everybody called me crazy and I never been called back in this league.

goalscorer357 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 I never scored much till by second bantam year , and that year in a pre- season tourney during a shootout in the finals did a spinorama and scored. I had practiced and failed many times doing it in practice and it finally worked! I later got a penalty shot in the regular season and missed using the spinorama. The next time I got a penalty shot my coach told me, " If you do a spinorama your getting a release form."
Outcast_Flyer 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2011 My first was my second year of peewee, I moved up from D(Haven't really looked back haha) and my second game I was coming into the zone along the boards, D dropped it off in front of me, took an ice hugging wrister that went off the goalies skate and just inside the post. goosedennis 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2011 Mites, there was a guy in front of the net with nobody on him. I started to pass it to him but he skated away. it ended up hitting off of the back post and in. I felt pretty stoked about hte fluke goal, but after the game I found out it was his first game playing goalie

black hills tj 5 Report post Posted September 8, 2011 I'm 22 and just started playing this year. First goal was a sloppy wrister right off the face off. Goalie was screened so he didn't see it coming. Went over his stick side shoulder.
mirm 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2011 Does a pick up game count?I was behind the net & was attempting to pass to a teammate. The puck deflected off of an opponent's skate & went into the goal.

regularjoe 1 Report post Posted September 8, 2011 First goal was in a pickup game where I was just starting out (literally just started skating about two months earlier). The most dominant player on the ice was on my team and he carried it around the net and fed it cross crease backdoor to where I had planted myself. Slam dunk.First goal in an honest to goodness beer league game was about four to five months later. Had just wrapped up the adult learn to play session for that night when a guy comes through the door and says his B league team is really shorthanded and desperate for players. My and another guy volunteered.Including the two of us, that made it six skaters against a full roster on the other side. First period, other novice player took a shot and goalie kicked the rebound right to me on my backhand as I was following through to the net. Another layup to tie the game at 1. We proceeded to give up the next nine goals and I spent the rest of the time with whiplash watching guys skate around me but hey, I did my part. :)I had zero game experience to that point and thought to myself that this goal scoring stuff isn't so hard. Little did I know...
goosedennis 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2011 Got my first goal of the year in a tournament yesterday.Championship game, tied 2-2 with a minute left in OT, coach put my line on the ice. I'm the official "tall person" of the team, so I had my ass in front of the net. Shot came through in front, I tried deflecting it, but it went wide. The other winger on my line went to get the puck in the corner, passed it behind the net to the center, took it in front shot, I picked up the garbage.I think we killed the goalie
JR97 2 Report post Posted October 10, 2011 I can't even remember my last league goal let alone my first. (it's been a while now that I've been playing D the last 4 seasons.) If I count my roller hockey days, my first goal was a rebound. I scored 5 in that game.. almost all rebounds or trash from the slot. The next game I had 4. And that's all I scored that season.. 9 goals in 2 games out of 12 plus playoffs. Its weird how I remember those 2 games like yesterday even though that was almost 20 yeas ago. TeamHonda401 54 Report post Posted October 11, 2011 My first goal was during a pickup session. We only had one goalie and my team was playing posts. Got a loose puck in my own end, panicked and thew the puck down at the goal. About five seconds later the puck gets down to the other net, and dings off of the left post. Absolute garbage in every sense of the word, but it did feel pretty good.
modsquadder3 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2011 So in my first Men's League exhibition game last night (and also my first game since I was a child), I scored in the first couple minutes! I planted myself in front of the net and banged in a rebound (while being knocked on my ass). I just saw the puck go in and on my way back to center ice, the ref grabbed me and asked what number I was (I didn't have a number on my jersey yet).I played goal as a kid (at an age where there was no blocker or trapper, just the shin pads), so this was my first EVER goal.Does anyone else remember their first goal, especially those who began playing hockey as adults?haha awesome that the ref got you the puck! took me a whole season in mens league to get my first goal, wasn't a pretty one but a goal is a goal. was basically a crowd in front of the net and the puck got loose right in front of me ready for a tap in lol. BoDangles 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2011 Congrats everyone on their first goals, especially the recent ones. My first goal would have been the first year after Timbits, so 6 years old I think that would be. Got the puck off a rebound, had the advantage of being one a few kids who could lift the puck off the ice, so sort of flipped (fluttered is probably a better word) over the goalie.
