Equipment sale discussion

Dude...

Wednesday is

Suite Holders

Sharks Ice employees

HP Pavilion employees

Fire fighters and police

I saw pics of the sale before Wednesday and saw tons of gloves, there was nothing on Thursday, Go check the show off thread some bought 6 + pairs of Easton gloves.

I'm going to have to agree with you, I stopped by to get my skates sharpened on wednesday and there were a ton of gloves at great prices. While waiting for my skates I saw people walking out with 3-6 pairs of gloves 3-5 sticks each and brand new helmets with visors and pants. A brand new pair of Scotty's Easton for $30 is a steal wouldn't you say? I wished they put things out a bit at a time so the rest of us can get a chance, but it is what it is.

I don't really agree with their policy of letting employees in earlier.. but moreso I think they should have a limit on items per person.

like 3 sticks

2 gloves

etc.

sounds fair. and i'm sure they'd still have no problem with selling it all/most of it

Dude, there were only six pairs of gloves left after the employees time in there, 10:00-12:30. The rest of us weren't allowed in until 1:30. It must be the employees buying all of the gloves and selling them on eBay.

Agreed. Limits need to be made. Or at least MSH members need access to the suite holders day. The selection on the STH sale was worse then my wrist shot, and that's saying something!

Wondering if anybody on board is planning on dropping by the Canucks Outlet store on the 11th which is supposedly when they drop all the gear off. It`d be cool to meet some of you guys. If you are planning camping, what time do you think would be good? I`m thinking I`ll drop by around 8:30 given they open at 11...dunno for sure though.

any word on the Flyers sale? did it happen yet?

Most of their stuff goes out the back door, or via charities and raffles. I don't recall them having a sale in the past.

Yep, there's really no point in going unless you are a STH holder or had VIP access.

I liked how they raised the price to $75 too.

I've seen some Flyers stuff on eBay in the past weeks. Decent equipment at huge prices with COAs like they're trying to sell stuff as collectable memorabilia instead of pro stock equipment.

Does anyone know how the Coyotes handle things?

Besides Sauce, the local store BTM gets items (mostly sticks) and I've seen a couple other sellers on ebay with stuff from time to time like Yotes97. The team shop has some sticks but way overpriced. For big name players like Doan they keep that stuff mostly for the coyotes charites events. No team sale unfortunately.

This was my first time going. Saw people walking out with some decent sticks while I was on line, by the time I got in, pretty much anything new or nice was gone.

Derek Settlemyre's dad I believe runs the shop at the Igloo in Mount Laurel, so they get pro stock stuff in once in a while. other than that, it's about who you know.

EDIT: if you don't know, settlemyre is the head equip manager for the team.

I went last year. I had a reserved spot in the second group (as a season ticket holder) and was about halfway in an approx. 100-person line (maybe less). There was a good selection of sticks, but mostly lefties. New sticks were $80, used were $40. There was a pile of protective (pants, shoulders) on one side that I didn't really check out b/c all of it would be too big for me. The glove selection was minimal, only Easton E-Pro style and RBK 9ks, all 15". There were mostly new ($70 I think), but some used for $40. There was a decent selection of skates, but those seemed to get attacked first. Best deals in the house were shafts and blades for $5, pro RBK Edge socks (new and used) for $5, and pro practice jerseys ($30 I think).

The good thing is that they re-stock after each group and I also saw them do it a couple times during the time my group was there, with the gloves at least.

Anyone know what the helmet situation has been like at past caps sales? Also, do they generally sell visors at these sales?

Thanks

I saw a decent selection of new helmets for $65. Don't remember seeing visors last year.
