riseonfire i know you said that was kicking around on another board, but that looks really good. I would support that as a third. I don't mind the design as much as I mind the color of the new thirds. pbhockey4 I really hope they don't move. I have been a fan since I was a little kid and those rivalries are always fun games to watch whatever the out come is. The team just needs to pull their shit together.

Their the only team to win the most cups (4x) taking out islanders wont make the rangers and devils fans happy

Not a fan of these jerseys. If my eyes are correct, then the black pants/jerseys look terrible with the Isle's blue gloves and socks. Plus these look like basketball jerseys, and I was enjoying the lockout... Haha

In the Uni-Watch world, that's called BFBS:

BFBS: Stands for “black for black’s sake,” a reference to teams that gratuitously add black to their uniform design even though black was never one of their team colors.

The Isles wiki page lists black as an official color, but I don't think they've had a primarily black jersey in the past, right? I'm a fan of anything that down-plays the diaper/coat-tails cut of the RBK Edge II jerseys, but the side stripes are too similar to the pattern on Edge practice jerseys...make it's looks like it's not a game jersey to me. I kind of like the football/hockey hybrid that Dallas, NYI and (ahem) Atlanta have done, but chest numbers will never really say hockey to me. I like the Royal Blue on the cuff, it ties in nicely with the royal gloves. The Isles page shows it with a blue helmet though...black would be more in tune with the "murdered-out" jersey/pants.

A lot of fan-generated designs are very viable, but it's usually easier to create a design when you're not actually dealing with the client. Dealing with those (individuals or groups) that approve designs often corrupt good concepts.

The Mets did, and will use it as a third on the road...chances are you won't see it much.

The Knicks were set to ditch all black; nobody saw it as the season didn't happen.

I actually really like it. The front could use a different design besides just spelling it out like other teams have done. Perhaps a nice 3rd logo.

Much better than teams like Dallas with an overly-simplified jersey. I'm tired of plain blocks and the same old stripe patterns.

I don't hate them in that picture...they grey in the shoulders isn't nearly as obvious. But after seeing them on TV....God AWFUL!!!!

And yes...the blue helmets looked ridiculous!

Having seen them on TV and In person, my vote is that they're brutal. The colors are off and don't work together. If I were an Islander, I'd put this on my growing list of examples of why we can't win.

Funny, I thought on TV they weren't as bad. Either way, the blue helmets goes to show you how cheap Wang is. Why get a new set of helmets when they already have a perfectly good set? Also Nino is with the team but being scratched for the 3rd game in a row. Won't play but counts against the cap... urgh. I hate my team.

Closest thing to an Islander's thread we got.

Nabokov signed a one year deal with the Isles for 2.7Million. There is not a NTC or NMC attached.

Just need to resign PAP, and overpay Suter now (2nd one is a pipedream, I know) =)
