Recommended Posts

On hockey monkey, they have a list of availble colours but they are photoshop pictures, not the actual gloves.

I believe those are from the Bauer Catalog/site. They had just about the same colors for the Vapor XX when they came out.

When I bought mine last week, they only had black w/ white lines, but I'm pretty sure eventually they will be coming out in a bunch of colors.

if you dont mind me asking... how much did you pay. at one of my local stores i saw them at... what a rip off. $159 usd for a nylon glove, give me a break!!!

nylon gloves do cost less to make... plus its an "import" glove. there is now way that a nylon glove from china should cost that much, hell for that matter, neither should an import leather glove. nylon gloves made in canada don't usually cost that much.

Navy and Black are the only stock colors, red/white/blue, all red, red and black, and a few others are booking only.

Almost all the shops around me have them for 129-139 us.

even thats too much for a nylon glove.

You do realize that the nylon used on the Vapor XXX is the same variety that is used on Pro level gloves, right?

It's not the same kind of nylon that you find on gloves that you might pick up at Wal Mart.

It is much, much more durable.

To boot, it is lighter than the synthetic leather used on most other gloves.

Im with prenny....nylon = YUCK!

And doesn't nylon soak up a whole heap of water when used in Ice? I've only ever used leather gloves for Ice and so has everyone else I've seen, bar some Under 12's who just started.

I don't think Prenny is slamming nylon. He is just saying that the price isn't worth it.

Nylon rocks. I like it...and no, it doesn't soak up water. It dries faster and is lighter.

Nylon has a stigma about it - that it's cheap. That's why it doesn't sell well.

Or maybe sub consciously we all prefer leather due to its kinky conotations!

I mean c'mon who here is gonna prefer a Nylon jumpsuit to a leather one???

;)

Nylon doesn't scuff or cut nearly as easily as leather does. Also when it gets worn in the leather doesn't get crusty and flake off.

Nylons are fine for ice, but terrible for inline. They're not a wonder glove or anything... I've ripped up just as many nylon gloves as leather (in ice and inline).

i do know what nylon gloves are, and what types they make... jr is correct on recaping what i said... the price is too high... and i have sold, and used, both retail and pro nylon gloves... im not saying the glove is bad by any stretch... i actually think its good, but way too much money for a glove made in china, whether is $129 usd or $159 usd... too much money.

I dunno, to me, $129 USD doesn't seem that bad for a Pro level nylon glove that comes with an extra set of palms.

Maybe it's just me but I could really care less where a glove is made. I have gear that was made in China and it seems well made to me.

im not putting down the quality of china product. what im saying is that due to the fact its made in china, the cost is too high. and just about all retail products are made over seas.

I guess you may have a point regarding the profit margin on the product.

I guess I just find the extra palms a nice incentive as it usually costs about $65 CAD to have gloves repalmed around here.

But what do I know? I'm still using 2002 Bauer Supreme 3000 gloves. :D
