New as in the NXG?

What's not to like about it? Upgrading padding and a shell that fits it well...I'm definitely switching to it. Should have a set soon.

Is the 3 point attachment system for the NXG like the 9k velcro tabs?

^ this is why. I dont really want that.

I actually have no problem with the 9k attachment system (I wear a 9k and only use 9k shells) I was just curious if Bauer was adapting the same concept.

I dunno, I guess I just like the idea of the girdle with the shell that goes over it. And being able to use almost any brand shell. I dont like that I'd now have to specifically use a NXG shell. Isn't it a pain to attach the shell to the girdle once its on your body already?

You probably could use other shells, you can with the 9k. Attaching the 9k shell is a pain if you have it on. I don't mind having to buckle the shell up, the shell I use on my APX I currently tape up since 9k shells have no belt.

You don't have to specifically use a NXG shell - you can continue to wear whatever you want. But the NXG shell enhances padding.

Can't speak on the difficulty as I've haven't put one on yet. It seemed simple enough.

Jr wrote in the 2013 Bauer catalogue thread that it should retail for 150$us, so that would be 700$ for us in Canadian stores . :p

I played my first game in the TotalOne last night and it was fantastic. The protection is deceiving, the thing doesn't feel like it has much of anything but after a few falls, some bumps and a couple pucks off the thing I now have no reservations about that. I think I'll be sticking with this guy now and the APX & 9K will be going to the wayside. The area's where there's no actual pads still offers some nice protection, I'm not sure what the material is called but I took a puck in a non-padded region on the TotalOne and I felt a bit of pressure but no pain or bruising from it.

For the past few months I haven't even bothered attaching the 9k shell to the girdle. It stays on for the whole game but I have a big butt so keep that in mind. I do wish it had laces though but that's more because I dig the look.

I don't use my 9k girdle anymore unless I know it's going to be a real physical game. I still use the shells because I like them, laces would be nice but I use tape to keep them on the other girdles I use. I like the Nexus idea and will seriously look that, but I'm hoping they do something better with the strapping system.

Just skated 2 games today with the Total One Girdle.

Love it. Didn't have any of the velcro issues another user was posting about, everything was intact. Fit's great (Size Large. 6'1" 194lbs 34in waist, big thighs). Highly recommend anyone looking to try it out to take the leap.

I tried on the APX today (finally got home, it's been sitting here for weeks). HATE IT. JR was totally right when he said it was just an adjustable pant. Doesn't open in the front like the TO does (this is key for me). I also found it to be extremely uncomfortable.

I guess I'll just bite the bullet and buy a TO or One95 if I can find one.

As far as sizing for a TO girdle, are the size charts actual measurements, or pants sizes? http://www.hockeymonkey.com/bauer-girdle-sizing.html

Large is 34" - 38" and 5'9" - 6'1"

X-Large is 36" - 40" and 5'11" - 6'3"

I'm 5'9 240lbs and wear a 38 jean. I wear XL hockey pants now, but my first pair (One15s) were L and comfortable.

Probably better to order XL, yea?

None of the Bauer girdles or core pads have an integrated cup. Nor does the Warrior Projekt. And those that do, jills won't fit.

However, a shot to the thigh, pants most likely would've done a better job than a girdle, due to the fact that there's segmented padding in the girdle.

This may be what you need - http://g-form.com/products/crash-shorts/

Warrior Projekt girdle does have cup pocket!
