Interesting information about Cammalleri sticks

Recommended Posts

Hi,

http://blogs.thescore.com/nhl/2013/02/14/backhand-shelf-podcast-cooke-on-karlsson-neil-on-cooke/

At the 23 minutes mark of the podcast, Justin Bourne give some insight about Mike Cammalleri's stick. Basically, according to him, Easton gave him a slightly different batch of sticks that Cammalleri liked so much that he is now asking for his sticks to have these small difference.

It would be nice if somebody with a recent Cammalleri pro stock stick could confirm this.

Thanks

Alex

Pretty sure that's what it is.

Have no idea why that guy is considered credible.

Agreed, he's an idiot. Every time someone posts something from him, it's wrong, misleading or a flat out lie.

the score has the worst sports cast. its just filled with 18 year olds who win those stupid reality tv show competitions, and dont even get me started on reality tv show competitions.

When I had my cammalleri twigs, he was using a mid curve with a bigger toe, not e28-ish though

And why is that exactly? What makes him an idiot I'm curious

The fact that he constantly gets information dead wrong and passes it off as fact. I don't understand how anyone could cite him as an authority, given what I have seen of his work.

Did it have to be called a "defect" though?

That's what I'm taking issue with.

Exactly. It's not a broken or bad stick, simply not per the initial spec. Something that happens fairly frequently. You would think someone who claims to be such an expert on pro hockey would know how common something like that is.

Well, he didn't specifically say 'defect', just that Easton 'made him a batch wrong' and that he had being using these 'wrong' stick. Wrong in the sense that it wasn't to spec?

If that's the case, my wording was too strong. It's still not a big deal, as this happens on a pretty regular basis.

The retail version has changed completely between the S19 and the Mako. lie, curve, loft, rocker, toe shape are all different. I really like the new one, one of the best curves I have had the pleasure of getting hold of.

Unfortunately I don't have a pro stock cammalleri curve of any vintage to compare to the various retail versions that were put out in his name. If one is a reflection of the other then it might be relevant.

the name on any retail stick does not indicate what pattern the pro actually uses, its for identification purposes only

Whilst that may be true for the majority of retail curves out there, I have seen some sticks where the pro and retail curves are similar eg Modano. That's not to say Modano only used that style of curve (I'm pretty sure it was around 2008 that I saw the 2 together side by side) but this was one case where they were similar.

As the original poster asks, it would be nice if someone had one.
