Ordered my first MyBauer custom stick tonight

Recommended Posts

So I've been using my Bauer Nexus 1N for 8 games and 3 stick and pucks that only I showed up to and though the curve had been frustrating at times I decided to stick with it and the past two games it's really clicked well. I'm using a P28 87 Flex Griptac cut exactly 1 inch making it roughly a 91 flex.

I always really liked the tac spiral grip that the NXGs had and decided to fine tune the flex. I shot around with the 1N full length before playing in a game and wow it was great but after cutting it I noticed it was a hair more difficult to get what I wanted on my shots so I checked the 82 flex box so when I cut it will be an 86 or so at my length. Other than that I got myself some cheese ball USA graphics (I'm an Army veteran so I just had to) and of course my name and number. I thought about putting my Mom who recently passed seats initials in the name box because I usually sharpie my butt end tape with them but I could hear her telling me that was stupid so I'll stick with the sharpie and had my own name in the box. 5-7 weeks for delivery and I have to deal with the little "my" in front of the Bauer but I figure this will be the perfect stick now given after using the 1N for quite some time without holding back it's still strong like the day I bought it. Skate blade marks all over and probably 10 blocks shots/passes later I can't complain. Anyone else order a stick through MyBauer?

Yes I have a few years ago I got a Vapor APX in silver n black graphics it looked really cool the my Bauer logo was the only thing that sucked because the my has a blue fingerprint looking logo behind the word MY and it kind of stood out on a silver n black stick but since the 1N has blue accents on it anyway it probably won't be a big deal. If I'm remembering correctly I got the stick in 6 weeks.

I've done two orders thru MyBauer. First order was a pair of Total One in 87 flex with P89 curve and full tactile. Second was APX2 in 82 flex with P89 and full tactile.

Got a 1X from MyBauer through an employee order. USA color scheme, P14 77 flex, griptac/tactile grip. On its last legs now and I'm going to be sad when it goes haha

I think add texture is for the tac spiral or underside otherwise it'd be just grip or matte without? I actually really liked the NXG non grip because it had the tac spiral so it was the perfect amount of grip. The thing is I didn't want to risk it in case now I'm a grip tac fan so I got both. What time of year did you guys order and how long did yours take?

Not checking a texture (grip or matte) gives it a gloss coating

So a gloss finish non grip? I am currently in an 87 flex 1N cut down 1 inch so a 91 flex. Maybe going down to 82 was a bad idea after seeing these pics after breaking down video of my shot haha.

That stick looks so sweet. I love the red in it and the flag. How do you like the 82 flex?

I'm coming from an 87 flex 1N. I cut 1 inch though so it brought it up to a 91 or so. I dropped to an 82 to have that same quick whip even after I cut it. Once I take an inch off it will be a real 86 flex.I haven't shot any pucks yet but I will this week.

How do you find the p28 plays compared to an e28 or warrior yakupov? interested in getting the exact stick you bought, just worried about curve - currently using ccm p46 85 flex

I notice no difference. My first Kreps curve stick was an E28 V9, that got me hooked. The P46 is actually designed by the same guy who designed the E28, Scott Bjugstad. I've been using the Kreps for 6 months or so now and I swear by it

I love it as well. The lie on the yakupov cause me to fan on some passes, but I really enjoyed my e28. Only issue is, as a defence man, quick snapshots tend to go a bit high - have unfortunately taken out a few teeth. Accuracy is off the charts with the curve though; a remarkable invention into the mainstream equipment consciousness.

Some of the best D man in the show use the Kreps (28 series) such as Doughty, Karlsson, Ekman-Larsson and a ton more. If I need to shoot low I can, I just use the back half of the blade which is basically as flat as a heel curve Drury.

So you were aiming for the teeth?

can anyone compare the flex of a CCM to the Nexus?

I use an 85 flex currently with maybe an inch or just under cut off (so not much) - flex is perfect for me

do they have a flex free zone like Sherwood, or is it likely the stick is playing stiffer as well?

just thinking if i should go 87 and cut it or go to an 82 and cut it
