I did not. Baked them with the felt tongues as that’s been my go-to setup. Didn’t know if the 3D printed tongues even could be baked

Just got SVH customs and after 2 games I am totally in love with them.  Only issue is getting them on!!!   tried the sideways twist and it doesnt help enough.  Considering heating them up and opening up the skate but I am worried about losing the fit.

Spot heat the very top couple eyelets, stick a softball in and throw them in the fridge for rapid cooling. Really had to do the same with my VH customs. No change to fit at all.

I also started using a shoe horn just out of necessity.

I would find out if it can but I don't see why it couldn't be since true skates are all about the molding process. If you can't, just bake the skates without the tongue then put the tongue on before you lace and mold them. At least this way the boot will form around and with the tongue.

True is changing names on everything. They had a survey out a few months back looking for different names for everything. Smoke will be one of the lines which has been seen for the new sticks already.

My experience with the custom-fit skates I received from True in 2024 has been a challenging skate-related experience. The SVH revised pair feel way too big, and from the moment I got them, they've been problematic. Despite multiple remakes, they still aren't right. As an early adopter of VH footwear skates, I had high hopes for the True skates, but unfortunately, the fit just hasn't worked for me. Customer service has been fantastic throughout the process, though.

 what's the plan now? It's really a shame. True seems to be completely hit or miss.

Good question. The VH/True skates I’ve had in the past, through their custom program, were fine, and even the pro stock pairs worked well. It's just this recent pair that has caused issues. In fact, the pro stock pairs fit better than this latest one. When the company was VH, everything fit perfectly for me. After the transition to True, the fit was slightly off—still decent, but now it’s way off

Aren't they remaking them with increased depth for you? You praised their customer service the other day, so it's weird to see you shit on them now.

after the remake they stiff don't fit correct.  their customer service is great, I'm talking in terms of the skates themselves.

I got the email about them increasing the depth by 15mm on 2/24/2025 at 9:18CST.   I'll post the remakes when I get a chance.  The skates arrived at the store Tuesday night

I sent the pictures showing the depth issue the 19th

Yeah so it's pretty disingenuous to come in here and say it's the worst experience you've had and not mention you have yet another remake on the way. They're clearly trying to make it right. More than I can say with my custom CCM experience so far.

I think what he meant was that the process of getting custom skates has been the main issue, and he's feeling frustrated. He could've probably expressed it a bit more politely.

I've seen quite a bit of issues with their goalie gear too. But maybe that stuff is kind of standard across all major brands

As you guys know I am in TRUE skates for the first time. They are only a month old and I realize time will tell but so far its been a great experience.  The skates do feel like gppd quality and do love the fit and. feel.
