he ain't nuts ....the older /more ice time they get ..the more they move around . i am aware ...cause whenever possible , I separate steel from the boot to achieve a more precise sharpening!! the trigger feature to remove steel is cool and a marketing gimmick ...but for 20 seconds of labour more, you get real screws to really tighten the steel and eliminate any free play !!

Hey, I'm just taking a few moments to read through this thread and see if i can help people that have with questions they have on the new skate. The fit on the Super Tacks will be quite different from the 2014 Tacks. The one-piece boot frame of the Super Tacks allows us to have a far more precise and anatomical shape, which also allowed us to get closer to the foot. So It will have a medium forefoot and volume. At a recent demo event, it fit properly on just about everyone, right out of the box. The pitch of the skate is a regular one, similar JetSpeed. I hope this helps, let me know if you have other questions.

thanks man, i'm not too much into being that goalie but i have started playing out as a forward because playing out doesn't make my knee feel like its falling apart. He has since taken a few pucks off his body, its amazing how i can make a shot to his body look accidental.

Really hoping the Habs pick him up as a UFA in the off-season. I think he would be a good fit on the second line with Plekanec. I'm sure the Kovalev factor would be a consideration in him signing with the Habs! I wouldn't mind him getting 20 mil for 4 years. That being said, all of this doesn't matter if the Habs really are keeping Therrien... No hope in sight.

I've seen a bunch of loose steel with the new edge holders as well. They clearly need to go back to the drawing board. For serious competitive players that are on the ice multiple times per week, the holders don't seem to last beyond 6 months. This and the fact that I couldn't use Step steel were the reasons that I ordered my custom MX3's with LS2 holders.

Howdy, Another couple weeks, another update... My son has decided that he really wants to play goalie. He's excited about it and really energized, so we're going with it. This is a pretty big turnaround, as a year or two ago when we were dipping our toe in pretty much my only rule was "no goalie, way too expensive". My expectations for costs have changed! :-) Anyway, Saturday we went out and got him some starting out gear for goal and he's signed up for a "local-ish" house league for next fall. This summer we'll likely try and find him one of the week long goalie day camps and get him in net at the "actually local" rink during stick times or whatever to see if we can jump start his level & skill a bit so he's not completely raw for the fall. As for me... New experiences are still happening. I played in a beginner E league at the same "local-ish" rink that's about 30 miles away. It was an interesting experience. I've been playing with the local over 40 group who are all pretty experienced players and where I'm clearly near the bottom in terms of skill. I didn't realize just how much easier that made it for me to play, since pretty much all the other guys were "doing the right thing" and I just needed to worry about me. At the E league, it was a lot more all over the map as I was in the top 3rd or so of players. Lots of confusion as to where people should be, when I made a pass it needed to be damned near perfect (and even then it was about 50/50), etc. etc. Still fun though, and I still made plenty of my own mistakes so its not like I was Crosby out there or anything. It was also the first time I'd played with refs and a scoreboard, which was fun. Actual faceoffs are cool! Speaking of the over 40 league... I'm slowly getting better. We played last night and I actually had a legitimately good assist. :-) I play winger with those guys. We forced a turn over in their offensive zone and I went and got the puck towards the corner. Saw a lane to the net and our center was near the top of the crease. Instead of forcing a shot, I gave our center a hard pass just out of reach of the goalie and he deflected it up into the top corner. Felt great to see the situation, make a good call on what to do, and then execute it. :-) Anyway, still slowly getting better, still having fun! Mark

Looks like a nice boot. Will they still be the widest and deepest of the CCM line even though they are very anatomical?

Looks nice. I wonder how this boot will compare to the mako's. Same design concept with the one piece boot. Definitely looking forward to these if I am not able to find any mako 2's in the future when I need a new pair of skates.

Ccm has a really nice insole that comes in 3 different arch heights depending on your foot shape. I found the yellow super feet to be too aggressive for my feet but the medium ccm's fit like a dream

I spoke with Bauer at the Source show about it. And all though there was not widespread issues as JR had said there was some issues and mainly in the pro's oops and Jr skates from my personal situations. The one I had sent back was 3 months old and was almost falling right out. MY understanding as was explained is there was some slight running changes in the mold and it seems to have solved some of the issues I had mentioned. I was told they will continue to monitor it but there was no plan to NOT continue with the "trigger" holder. I can honestly see how it can be an advantage but I still prefer the LS2 with Step blade. But the newer holder I will admit do seem to be fitting tighter and not loosening up as much. I just put some clear tape on the blades of the ones that are loosening. And the others just take them back to get new ones put on. One girl on our team is on her 3rd set of holders and 2 others on their 2nd each.

I'm seeing maybe 1-2 pairs a day like this, but yes, it seems to be worse when the holders are more "experienced". Doesn't seem to be localized to Fusion runners. Seeing it with LS2 as well. Haven't seen one with LS3.
