I have no horse in this race (I'm set in my current pattern), but as someone who has followed gear for a long time and has played and taught in NA and EUR, there seems to be some folklore and demand attached to the Kovalev pro -- both his most recent, much deeper version (perron) and his older version, pre 05 lockout version, which is still used by a lot of euro pros today (Leino and Brunnstrom come to mind); and the Kovalchuck pro. I realize they're both toe patterns, but people seem to want them. I'd also mention that there are A LOT of guys using a standard p92 with a toe kink nowadays (Benn, E.Kane, Ladd, Legwand, Forsberg...). Most times, trends at the pro level find their way down to amateur... Maybe you could get ahead of the pack! To be totally unbiased as I've mentioned only toe curves, I'll give a shout out to the Darby. It's a great moderate heel curve that you see lots of requests for online. This toe curve fad has to run its course soon. right?? ;) Just my two cents... Anyways, good luck! You seem to be on the right track w/ kovy and asking customers! Cool stuff. I've used your sticks before, and they're top notch. Keep doing what you're doing.

I would love to see the Sher-wood Bourque curve re-done. I'll have to digging tonite for the one blade that I've saved for all these years

I've had the RBZs for a couple of seasons now and the length of the forearm guard was my biggest issue with these pads. They run very short. Overall, they're the best elbow pads I've ever used (and I've tried almost everything there is out there). However, I'm tired of taking slashes on the forearm, I've retired the RBZ's and have now gone towards a more protective pad (Easton Pro 10). I also saw the Quicklite's today in the store, they are identical to the RBZ's in terms of the slash guard length.

Why not offer all of the standard blade patterns but with the option to max out the height or a tall version? Eg like the pro stock P29M, P28M etc :)

Yeah the Grip Powder Matte, sorry. So true. Manufacturers use buzzwords like "premium 12k weave" to market their higher end products, but many pro sticks use 3k or a different weave. Different weaves produce different results, and any can be used to manufacture a high-end stick. Once again (as always), it boils down to preference and feel.

Count me as very curious. If anyone can capture the segment and post it here it would be much appreciated.

As much as manufacture standardization would be great, every manufacture is going to have their own rating process..at least for the time being. Plus, kick points and other variables are always going to vary how a stick feels in regards to flex. Some manufactures are known for playing stiff. I do not believe we have that reputation and have had good feedback in that area. Junior sticks are going to accept junior blades and and SR, INT accept senior. Offering shaft options as opposed to OPS only allows you to chose the blade that best fits your own game. JR flexes - 25, 40, 50 INT flexes - 45, 55, 65, 75, 85 SR flexes, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120 There are plenty of options there from us. I wish I could take any guesswork out of it for you.

I still need to reply to your email, and will do so quickly. To update you on blade selection we are no longer labelling blades by name.. Nasty, Savoy, etc.. they will simply be Regular, Stiff and Xtra Stiff. They are all top notch materials and the weave does not reflect style, weight or quality but rather feel, stiffness and flex. As you can see in my original post the XS blade has a different weave than the other 2. The perception to some would be that the larger weave is a higher quality product, and that simply is not the case.

Right on, just trying to figure some preferred specs/ specs I am interested in so I have a bit of a clue, for when we met in June (Nasty R shaft with grip powder matte, somewhere between 80 and 90 flex, Savoy blade). It is pretty nice how you Base seems to have so much available with customization.

Take the E28 blade shape and rocker ... keep straight till 3/4's towards the toe, then a nice closed toe curve no bigger than gionta with with a 4 lie. This sounds perfect in my mind ;)

It's funny how the curves that people say they want are always the worst selling ones from years past.

Line looks good. Kinda bummed they are going with a different strapping system with the shins, will see if I like them. Pants look to me like the most likely I would buy.
