Hit it with a heat gun about 2-3" away. That will tighten it up. You can fill the gap in with a paint pen if it bothers you.

I'll leave the Lieberman reference alone.... 😉 That's a huge can of worms. Regardless, I really don't think instrumented treadmills are necessary to get to the answer and in fact, would be more challenging to get a satisfactory answer than some simpler alternatives. As I say, I know quite a lot of elite players and can deduct broad principles from that data I have. Alternatively, some simple, well conducted on-ice testing could get to the answer as well. As I alluded to earlier in the thread, we were going to do some of it with my son after making the changes, but he's absolutely convinced in the set up he wants now and any amount of testing I do won't make a bit of difference. That's another thing about hockey, the mental piece is huge and if you make a change that the athlete perceives reduces performance, it will affect confidence to the point that it will likely reduce performance regardless. A self-fulfilling prophecy or a negative placebo effect if you will. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. We've gotten far enough off of the topic, we probably should leave it at this point.

Ive done this on a pair of TRUE and Bauer skates recently. It works well.

You could use CCM tongues and just drill two holes to accommodate the attachment clips. That would be the easiest and gives you multiple thickness options. You could also (or have it done) Speedy Stitch a set of Nash Super Sniper replacements or a set from a pair of donor skates of your choosing. Another option would be to remove the existing tongues, stitch or epoxy a tab of loop Velcro to the underside of the toe box and use True tongues.

I think of it this way, if you are driving straight down through the footbed, transferring force directly through the blade with no torque, stiffness of the sidewalls does’t come into play.

But those 5 less grams on the FT3 are everything. It’s probably like 20 more goals over the course of a season

I would dispute that with my credit card. I am NEVER an advocate of chargebacks being a business owner myself. However, the way they are handling this is bad. A good business will do whatever is needed to make a customer happy. At the very least, they should sell you a correct sized mask for "cost."

All aboard! Jumping on the konixx pure train here. I’ve owned a number of other wheels, mostly labeda, and their performance is better then all those. Also very noteable, they do not crack for me anywhere near as easy as other wheels have, so they’ve lasted longer.

I have used a lot of different indoor wheels over the years and Konixx Pure +2 are by far my favourites. They're fast, durable and grip well. I haven't tried the new Pure X yet, but look forward to doing so in the future.
