Ah ok I see those... some nice AS3s with the Hummr. Good catch. I have the 9370s so I don't have the composite outsole, but I don't think that will matter much. I may have to shim it then, would be my first but doesn't seem too hard. As for the Sure Grips I actually thought they were pretty angled. I had some Tour's years ago (which had the Hummr) and I felt like I constantly was going to fall on my ass because they were so flat. I'll prob go the Tnut / bolt method for added strength as well...

Howdy, Reads to me like you're overthinking it. If they fit, they fit... Doesn't matter what letter is on the tag and what numbers are on a chart. When you're playing if you find issues, that's a different story, but play and experience the issues before you try and solve them. Mark

I’m between sizes as well in most S-M-L sizing on anything. I essentially need the L length, but M fit. And in most stuff, I’ve found I’m happier in M. For shoulders, an L on me rides up, and I have to pull it down. Buuuuuut, that’s me. Does a friend/teammate/acquaintance/tinderhookup have a pair of S you could wear for a game or two? Much easier to decide once you’ve worn both, but it’s also a mindgame because different pads fit differently. If the M feel good, stay there. A lot of the differences are negligible, and sounds like you’re mostly concerned because of Bauer’s chart, as opposed to them being uncomfortable. At the end of the day, you gotta go with what’s in your heart and what feels right to you. —— My solution would be to buy a pair of S used somewhere, then sell the pair that you don’t want, then buy an upgraded pair because now you know for certain what size you need, and you spend a whole month overthinking selling and reselling and buying and end up in pretty much the same spot, but $150 poorer because you also bought a pair of gloves, because you could get them shipped for free along with the shoulders.

If you're struggling to find your size in stock, drop a store a message, sizes can always be ordered in from True EU. New Missions will be in UK shortly, hopefully rinks will be open once they do.

Another option is to canabilize a jr goalie chest/arm for the chest piece. They are segmented so should conform to his back better than a solid piece. We seem to have goalie C/A in the "free biin" at my local rink.

I play with a lot of ex-pro players (NHL, AHL, D1, etc) and a large majority of them wear shoulder pads. I assume because their entire career they always wore protection and to them, it is just normal to wear shoulder pads. I don't think wearing protection is always about a persons ability. I can skate just fine, better than a large majority of people I play with, but there are still times when you are in a foot race to the corner for a puck, shoving one another, and sh!t happens. Sticks get crossed, skates get tangled, whatever, and someone goes into the boards. I'm actually more worried about the lower level players than the high-level skaters. High-level players will know when to back off and to let the other person have the puck in a foot race while a lower-level player will go 110% and many times cause the catastrophe. Destroyed my collarbone on a breakaway a few years ago. Picked up the puck, wide open just past center ice, and the other player was 5+ lengths behind me. As I closed in on the goalie I stopped striding and the other player kept chasing me down furiously. He then swung his stick from behind into my skates and took out my feet. I fell awkwardly, unable to recover or protect myself, sliding into the goal post and then hit the boards at full speed. I knew immediately that something was wrong when I couldn't pick up my stick. The pain and shock then set in a few moments later.
