It looks decent, but I still think the MSH one is better. Though they appear out of stock. I wonder if I should start making some. Looks easy enough. I'm in the process of making a custom hockey bag right now.

I didn’t mean to imply that I’m trying to bake $1600 skates at home 🙂 what I meant is they every shop seems to do it differently, but generally they just throw both skates in the oven for like 5-7 mins straight. In the past with Bauer skates I’m used to preheating the oven first for like 5 mins then putting 1 skate in, then 2 mins later put another one. 1 min later pull the 1st skate out, put it on, lace up. Takes about 1 min. Pull the 2nd one out, lace up. Sit for 10 mins then stand for another few. total bake time 3 mins, 1 skate as a time. my question is - how is this process different for CCM skates aside of the bake time being 2 mins (it seems) instead of 3?

Rumor is, Gooner is testing out a new prototype holder made from 100% concrete. 🤣

I picked up the RX3 shoulder pads last year during a covid sale (when I thought it would just be a short time before I played again🤣), after them sitting around for almost a year I tried them 3 or 4 times and just didn't care for them... they were plenty protective, light weight and relatively low profile but they just didn't stay in place at all. I found myself constantly re-adjusting them no matter how tight or loose I made the chest straps. Not sure if it was the design with the shoulder caps/bicep pads that would pull the chest section or what but I couldn't stand it. I went back to my old RBZ130's and then found a deal on a pair of NOS CL's which I have since swapped the shoulder caps on in favor of the RBZ130 caps from my old ones (the CL caps felt huge).

Blades have always come with some sort of “profile” on them. Whether or not they matched from the factory, or players did anything to maintain or update that profile is dependent on that player. On this site you have a bunch of nerds who overthink everything and are insistent on all the latest technology an trying new stuff. On the other hand, you have people skating on skates from 1997 with steel you can barely see, and they are still good players. Lots of people, myself included, would advocate that it’s worth profiling your steel and spending the time and money to maintain it. But, if you’ve never thought about it and you don’t feel like you’re missing anything, maybe that time and money is better spent elsewhere. That’s a total non-answer, haha, but I do think we tend to overcomplicate things sometimes.

I believe the sale precluded the 14 day free demo. I had to pay my own shipping, but you can reclaim the fee through PayPal if you purchased using that.

I should clean out my storage more frequently.
