I just received two pairs in the mail. I bought the 13” and the 14” just to see which fit better with the intention of returning/reselling the pair I don’t want. I just want to give anyone interested a heads up that these gloves run very small. The 13”s are tiny. The thumb is very short. I’m even reconsidering the 14”s because they are also quite small overall. I may wait to use these until I can get a pair of 15” just to be sure. FYI I normally always select 14”s but admittedly tend towards 4 rolls which generally run larger and looser To be clear the gloves are awesome. Very well made, incredibly interesting, as comfortable as advertised. I’m just being really picky because I want to use these for a long time.

It's a smart move to put a logo on the heel. With a lot of skates' quarters covered with shot blockers, it can be hard to see what skate a player has on. The heel is often still exposed when much of the rest of the identifiable branding on a pro's skate is covered.

Where’s a CCM F•I•T machine when you need one?

This is where I picked up my TF9's last Friday....my "effective" price was $370 CAD incl. Tax. I say effective because I still paid $530 at the counter, but will be getting back around $160 in Canadian Tire money (which to me Is as good as 1:1 real money). A bunch of triangle offers all lined up for 1 day, couldn't say no!

Verified the discount with TRUE and everyone is correct. They are discounting for Black Friday, up to 20% on anything TRUE. Looks like we will be doing the sale as well 😉

I play in a league that had some sort of sponsorship deal with All Black Sticks for a few seasons. Each season, a player or two would win a free stick. The people who won these for free didn’t like them, and generally didn’t use them. This is only a sample size of six people or so, but even when people pay for them the best reviews I see are “it’s good for the money” or “I can’t tell the difference.” If you know where to look and be patient, they aren’t good for the money. These are people who bought a thing, and want to feel good about it, so they leave a good review. And for people who say things like “I don’t care, I can’t tell a difference,” these aren’t people with nuanced views from whom you want to accept advice. I’m overly cost conscious in my typical day to day life. I love a good value, and will spend extra time and energy to save money. I have literally NEVER* seen a stick from a discount supplier that is a good value and worth what you spend on it. Typically, you are getting less bang for your buck. People are charmed by the idea of getting a “good deal,” and focus more on that than whether it actually plays well relative to what you paid. *A few people on here who I really trust stand behind the Prohockeysticks.com stuff. I haven’t used or seen one in person. But, for the same $130 -$140 you are paying them, you can probably find a new prostock stick from a big name manufacture that meets your needs. I think the advantage that site offers is being able to order weird curves pretty easily. If you’re fine using a 92/88/28 curve, you should be able to find one fairly easily in the $110 - $130 range.

Most of the customers/players I know who got them said they are decent, but have swapped to other skates or switched back to their previous skate. I tested them and they seem ok. Nothing special or significant stood out to me. Positives: Updated lacing system allow for more forward flex Updated liner and foams are nicer than previous generations Negatives: Carbon Curv doesn't seem durable, many of the Hyperlite skates that come into the shop are in bad shape. Updated tongue has a very stiff insert that many people find uncomfortable Carbonlite runner (optional) is trash. Stay away from it. Neutal: Updated outsole is supposed to allow more flexion and torsional flex. I did not notice this when testing them. Skate is supposedly lighter than previous generations. While it does weigh less than the 2X Pro, its heavier than the 1X. We are talking about a very small margin, so that that with a grain of salt.

Profile2 - Quad 0.5 (8-10-12-14) on CCM Ribcor 9 1/2 size Steel - Step blacksteel 280mm Hollow - 5/8'' About Me - I started playing/skating when I was 5 then played at good level until 13 in leagues. Then stopped and played only maybe 8-10 times/winter at local public outdoor hockey rink just for fun until mid 30s. Then restarted in beer league at 35. Now in my late 30s. I'm a forward. I'd say a good skater and a tad faster then average skaters. Almost 6' tall and 185lbs Review - Felt way better overall than the 9' single. The grip is similar, but it feels more natural and the glide is way better. you feel that the blade is at the right "height" in the ice when it digs in it. 9' was just to deep. You don't get tired as quick as the 9' . Easier to keep pace when you are cruising or at higher speed. Mobility is similar than 9'. Going forward to backward is way easier then 9' as well as stability/balance is better. Acceleration - 3.8 Mobility - 3.8 Stability - 3.6 Speed - 4 Very happy with it. But I've always liked my ROH deep like 1/2 or even 7/16. So I'll try 9/16 next time instead of 5/8. I don't think I'm a 1'' or 3/4'' candidate. update nov 26 2021: tonight was my second game with that profile and with 9/16 ROH. I think I found the sweet spot. Got used to profile and 9/16 suits better the hard surface of ice of the rink where I play every Friday at my beer league. Awesome. Now feels more confident on my skate and scored 2 goals tonite 🙂
