  1. The Redwings had the same situation in 2008 as a result of them wearing the "C" and "A" on the right so it was still cluttered on the jersey
  2. For the most part I have ignored the ad patches and I know this only is really a problem for the players with either a "C" or an "A" but it still looks bad
  3. It reminds me of the KAV helmet looks wise, and looking at the KAV website I don't think they still make the hockey helmet. Although I did see one KAV helmet out in the wild last year while reffing. Will be interesting if his catches on at retail
  4. This is a great tool, much better than the one Bauer sends with the skates
  5. It's also interesting watching the caps-canes game that the ads on the dashers are split 50/50 between the 2 teams not just the home teams ads
  6. This is my question as well, might have to find a new steel provider, maybe Tydan will jump in
  7. It will be interesting to see how Bauer reacts to pros who want to use Step and for the players who use Step if it causes them to make any changes to keep using the steel, now that it wont be available to them according to the press release. I feel like most people, us here on MSH not included usually just use the stock steel that comes with their skates so there would be more value in a consumer seeing X player using Bauer skates because they wont even think that its a different type of steel being used.
  8. I use rain-x anti fog on my bubble and I find that it works the best, I do reapply it about every 2-3 weeks or when I see the fog build up getting worse
  9. That would be correct, I too am a medium in the 710 and a small in the V08
  10. From the comments in this post on Sparx Website https://blogs.sparxhockey.com/how-to-choose-your-grinding-ring-infographic Here's a chart that shows how the FBV and FIRE measurements match up: 90/50 = 3/4" ROH (more glide) 90/75 = 5/8" ROH 100/50 = 1/2" ROH 100/75 = 3/8" ROH (more grip)
  11. This is the biggest take away for me, as we have discussed in this thread, a helmet that fits is more protective then one with 5 stars that doesn’t. This test works for football helmets cause they have air bladders that can help with the fit.
  12. I’m torn, as someone who also lives in a ECHL market I’m excited for the EQ sale to pick up some new CCM gloves and I love the Tacks helmet so I’ll get some more of those. But I also love Warrior sticks so that will be a plus going forward edit: also saw that Athletic Knit will be the new Jersey provider https://www.echl.com/en/news/2019/4/athletic-knit-named-exclusive-jersey-provider-of-the-echl
  13. Just watched the video. He said with the customs you could choose any skate from any of the product lines. I thought that you start with the product line that you fit the best into and then they customize from there.
  14. Steel - Step Black 306 Hollow - 1/2" Profile - 9'/10' About Me - Started playing hockey in 4th grade. and played through high school took a break playing for about 2 years during college and then started to play pick up. Now playing beer league hockey. usually on the ice about 3 times a week. I would consider myself a strong skater but with lots of room for improvement. Review - For set 1 I went with JR’s recommendation of 9/10. I’ve skated on this set 6 times just so I could get a good feel for what has changed from the control set. During the first skate I noticed I felt a little less stable coming from a 11’ radius this got better as I got use to skating on it but still never felt as stable as on my control set. I did see the biggest improvement in my turns and cross overs and I could feel how I was able to get in and out of the turns tighter and faster as a result of the 9' radius on the front. I also fell like I had better acceleration but to me the speed felt about the same as the control set. Based on this, here are my ratings: Acceleration: 3 Mobility: 3.5 Stability: 2.5 Speed: 2.5 Profile Tested Before This: 11’ Next Profile: Quad 1
  15. Looks like Tydan will be providing replacement steel
  16. Steel - LS4 306 Hollow - 1/2" Profile - 11' (control) About Me - Started playing hockey in 4th grade. and played through high school took a break playing for about 2 years during college and then started to play pick up. Now playing beer league hockey. usually on the ice about 3 times a week. I would consider myself a strong skater but with lots of room for improvement. Review - For my control set I have the stock LS4 steel from my 1S skates. Coming from LS2 on my old Vapors which had never been profiled and had a very small radius from being sharpened many times over the years. I could tell an instant difference between the 11' and my old skates I felt more stable and could feel more power in my stride but had a drastic drop in my turns. I also felt that the 11' was a little to long from what I was use to on my old skates. Based on this, here are my ratings: Acceleration: 2.5Mobility: 2Stability: 3Speed: 2.5 Profile Tested Before This: N/ANext Profile: 9'/10'
