  1. Well, even if its only one period I figured I'd edit it anyway. These guys just kept trying to shoot it from a distance. Stick save after stick save. Kind of funny watching them back to back like this. The one question I have is about the goal that was scored. Is there anything I could have done better on that? I was concentrating on the shooter, but did know there was traffic in front. I didn't want to cheat to my left. Is this just a fluke that there wasn't much I could have done better, or what?
  2. Won 5-2. Team is now 8-1, and I have 7 wins. Ref made me take the camera down after the first period so no video :(
  3. I'm lucky that my regular season team is so far away I never get blackouts. But watching the Kings and much of the playoffs... yeah, Yonder. But its so easy and works so well I really don't mind.
  4. My biggest rebound issue at this point is shots off upper chest/shoulder area. There's no way to cradle those so it ends up popping out into the slot.
  5. Saving energy mostly. Warmups for me is just tracking the puck.
  6. Heh, I'll take shots in warmups until somebody decides to try to snipe top corner and then I'm out. I also don't go down at all in warmups. They don't get the whole concept of "shoot at my gloves".
  7. And if you can't absorb, make sure they either go out to the corners or out far enough that you have time to recover. I hear you though, I had a problem for a while with not being able to hang onto pucks to the chest area.
  8. Yeah as opposed to the brutal NBC guys. The less time I have to listen to Doc Emrick screeching in my life the better.
  9. Cross-posted in the Show off your Goalie Gear thread :)
  10. Do you have something against wearing a modern mask?
  11. Seems like an easy decision to me ;) How does one manage to get hit in the jaw??
  12. I'm still going strong on my original Mako Is, but I'm not very hard on them and only started wearing them again recently. It had been about 6 months of only playing goal until a few weeks ago. They're still in pretty good shape, with the exception of a tiny bit of rust around the rivets. Probably from the 1 or 2 times I didn't take the insoles out.
  13. Mako 1? I've heard of that happening a few times in this thread.
  14. That's what I always try to tell people... Superfeet aren't for arch support, they're for heel stabilization. And they do a damn good job of it.
  15. Nope, it's wonderful! Could probably skate with no laces they wrap so well!
  16. If the increased depth of super feet is an issue, try putting them in without the red insole. I I did the opposite when I got mine. Tried taking out the red insole and using super feet but found that gave me way too much room in the skate. I probably could have just re-baked but decided to just leave the red insole in.
  17. I used to have to do that and also wear super thin socks. They've definitely broken in though now, much easier to get on and I can wear whatever socks now. Unfortunately that also means the skate itself is a bit looser than it used to be. Hasn't been an issue though, still super comfortable. And then there's my VH where I have to use a shoe horn just to get the damn things on!
  18. Skating on them wouldn't void the warranty anyway :)
  19. Nice, @tedpenguins! Sounds like some pretty good progress! @badger_14 man I wish getting to the rink early meant extra ice time. They pack all the games in where I play so there's really no opportunity like that.
